I am not a website developer, but I built a website with AI. I have a basic understanding of HTML, but I'm a rank amateur.

We recently introduced a new service, and I wanted to see how ChatGPT 5 could help me build a website highlighting it. So, over the last couple of weeks, on and off, I created a clean website using ChatGPT 5. The website is simple and displays several videos we created that demonstrate practical applications of AI video for business. (The link is below.)

I started with a Word doc and still images from each video. I uploaded that to ChatGPT, along with links to the videos on Vimeo. In a few minutes, I had a graphical layout. We then moved quickly to a local HTML preview I could watch with my browser, and iterated from there.

We started out using Vimeo's video player, but I didn't like the look, and it covered the burned-in captions on the videos. I discussed what I needed with ChatGPT, and it designed its own player, which worked well.

After that, we set up brand colors, text formatting, and built the Generative Engine Optimization portion. GEO is necessary, for without it, generative search engines won’t “see” the site. Classical SEO was also implemented, and ChatGPT walked me through the Google Search Console so I could monitor our search positioning. BTW, the website is responsive.

In my continued exploration of AI-generated video, here's a fanciful TV ad demo. I've achieved perfect character consistency, which has been a challenge in the first month of my experimentation. AI produced all the imagery with a little help from me and Photoshop. I use the generated video clips as my raw footage. That's then edited (I keyed elements in some scenes, others have rotoscoped elements), graded, titled, and captioned. Sound design elements are created in Pro Tools using Krotos tools, such as DeHumanizer, for the spider roars and screams. As a director, I have complete control over every element of an AI video, provided the AI model permits it. The ongoing challenge is to create prompts that do not cause AI hallucinations. The best prompt is up to 600 characters, which is a challenge. I'm learning the details of how AI models interpret text descriptions of visuals. It doesn't "think" in visuals. It requires specific instructions. The models are improving, so we can now upload guide images that the AI uses to maintain consistency. This means we can include accurate product imagery, if needed. Using AI-generated video remains both frustrating and exhilarating. But, I'm getting there.
