Every Christmas Eve, before we sit down to eat, we share a prayer and break opłatki — a thin communion-like wafer made of simple bread.

In Polish tradition, each person breaks a piece with the others and shares wishes for health, peace, and blessings for the coming year. It’s a small moment, but it always brings tears, hugs, and quiet reflection.

I know every family celebrates differently… and I love hearing those stories.
