Taking time to notice the natural world, to look up and to look closely, is one of my favorite aspects of travel. These were taken in Italy, at Orrido di Bellano, a natural gorge. This incredible area feels like a tropical rainforest and is situated right near Lake Como.
Happy Earth Day from Italy’s Abruzzo region, where the native Italian wolf (aka Apennine wolf) decided to pose for us on this gorgeous overlook. 😍 This pack of four adults lives in a natural preserve outside of an educational museum about the conservation and rewilding efforts going on in the region. 👏Can you believe this is only a few hours away from Rome? #earthday #abruzzo #abruzzoitaly #italianwildlife #italianwolf #apennines #apenninewolf #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeofinstagram #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeconservation #wolfconservation #sonyalpha #sonyalphafemale #wildlifecamerawoman

We’ve spent quite a bit of time in “the natural state” this year. Arkansas is now home to many beautiful memories for us, and also some pretty dark ones. Boxley Valley, near the Buffalo River, is home to a herd of nearly 500 elk thanks to a restoration project in 1981 by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Grazing near the Buffalo National River, this herd emerged as we drove towards Ponca, with two male elk bugling, sizing each other up, and separating their harems. When multiple bull elk are present, like in these clips, they display their dominance by bugling and sometimes thrashing the ground with their antlers - see those grasses stuck in that first clip? These two bulls didn’t lock antlers - after they marched side-by-side, they went their separate ways. My grandfather, Oscar, won the lottery in the 90s and bought land near Boxley Valley. This year we helped my mom during some of the darkest moments I’ve seen of her addiction and spent a lot of time in the area. It was fascinating to get to know some of the local farmers and learn that despite so much “natural state” beauty, the natural balance of nature in this area is damaged, as in most places, by humans. The elk subspecies that was native to the region, the Eastern elk, is extinct and the Rocky Mountain elk that were brought in the 80s are now starting to exceed carrying capacity without any natural predators like wolves or mountain lions. We hope you’ll turn the audio on and enjoy this cinematic soundscape that Michael produced, inspired by the dramatic landscape and melodic sounds of the natural world. He would love to put these talents to use more often for documentary soundscapes and custom music beds, so send us a message if you’d like to collaborate. Thank you for watching. #arkansas #boxleyvalley #naturalstate #elk #ponca #arkansaswildlife #wildlifeconservation #conservation #wildlifefacts #wildlifeeducation #documentarysoundscape #documentary #wildlifedocumentary #wildlifefilm
Watching this grizzly bear mama interact with her three rambunctious cubs was our favorite experience in Yellowstone National Park this year. We first spotted mom grazing on a hillside on our very first day in the park. We felt so incredibly fortunate, but it was around sunset and our moments in their presence were fleeting. For the rest of our time in Yellowstone, we looked for this adorable family, but they were elusive. Then on the very last day, they emerged once more. 😍This time, it was just starting to drizzle and the cubs were even more playful. It felt like a perfect “aloha” to our trip - it was like they said hello, then goodbye. #nationalwildlifeday #wildlifeday #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstone #ynp #grizzly #grizzlybear #grizzlybears #bearcub #wildlifefilmmaker #wildlifeconservation #wildlifevideography #wildlifeaddicts #wildlifephotography #wildlifelovers
Behind the Scenes Conserving the World's Most Endangered Wolf
Sound on! 🔊
We love to show the hard work behind the scenes of conservation - especially when we’re talking about the MOST endangered wolf in the world.
And yes, some of those shots are from *inside* the wolf habitat - wolves are incredibly shy around humans and they run to the clear other end! So next time you’re on a camping trip and someone says they’re afraid of wolves, let them know they should really be more worried about raccoons eating all your homemade granola (true story 🤦🏼♀️).

There are many perks of working with animals and telling conservation stories... of course, the animals are at the top of the list because they're often very cute and equally important to the planet. 🐾🌎
But another perk is meeting passionate, talented individuals like Dale & Loti of @weilerwoodsforwildlife.
Isn't Dale's sculpture beautiful? 😍
Can't wait to see his next one!
Chilly, beautiful morning filming birds in our front yard. Here’s a Yellow-shafted Flicker. Watch til the end to see the yellow beneath his wings! 💛
We were supposed to be in Loess Bluffs this weekend filming migratory birds, but COVID had other plans. ☹️ We are both okay- Michael tested negative and I am on the mend.
We’re making the best of our quarantine, though! Catching up on work (that Covid fatigue is very real!) and getting outside as much as possible to birdwatch in our yard.
I love that the descriptions on these woodpeckers describes the black around their beak as their “mustache”. And FYI, Red-shafted Flickers have red mustaches. 🥸
Have you spotted these near you? You may spot them on the ground, since they eat ants with their barbed tongue. Or in the forest, like I saw today, munching on berries.
Thank you to our clients for their patience as we navigate this, reschedule shoots, and catch up.
When photography + video + design all get married for an educational social campaign, it makes me ☺️.
We created these fun #WolfAwarenessWeek designs for the @endangeredwolfcenter and were so happy to see them shared & reach more than 60,000 people with a positive message about a misunderstood animal.

Do you like fresh fish? How about so fresh that it's still flopping around as you gulp it down? 🐟 🍣
I didn’t realize there were so many different white herons! I think this is a Great Egret, but I’d love to hear from my birding experts if I’m correct!
Did you know there are Snowy Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Little Blue Herons (that can be white!), Reddish Egrets (can also be white!) and Great White Heron?
Monday Mood 🌧
What is your favorite rainy day activity? Is it filming birds in the cold while your husband asks you to please shut the door? 🙋♀️ Mine is!
Behind the Scenes with Bright Coral
Go behind the scenes with us and check out some of our latest projects... Warning: Lots of cute animals in this compilation. Sorry, not sorry!
2020 was a year of growth for Bright Coral - Michael Ziglar joined the team full-time (right before Covid hit), we expanded our creative services, which are outlined at the end of this video, and we have continued collaborating with other creatives to do bigger & better things!
Thank you to all of the crew members and collaborators that helped make these projects possible - there are too many to name, but you know who you are!
And sound up- we love this song that Michael composed and recorded for the video. You know a song is good when you can edit for hours and hours to it and you don't get sick of it!

Another testimonial video from another grateful dog mom! 🐶🎬
This series was such fun to film. The more dogs, the better, in my book!

🌷Spring daydreams. 🌱
It’s strange to experience spring in such a different way this year. There’s a lot of anxiety as a creative small business owner. But I’m always most joyful with camera in hand, capturing nature.
So we are taking time to stop and smell the tulips this spring. And film them! 😊
🔊 Turn that sound on! Michael (my husband and composer) recorded a snippet of my favorite song, Avril 14th, because we filmed this on that date. It feels so right.
How are you staying creative?
Let’s get a little inspo thread going here and for my small biz owners, comment with what you do so we can all support each other!
Behind the Scenes with Red Foxes!
Come behind the scenes with us and meet two adorable Red Foxes that I filmed at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center! Working with animals, wildlife, and conservation is my absolute favorite! So here's a glimpse of me having the best 👏 time 👏ever👏 !
These foxes are ambassador animals that will live permanently here to educate the public about the fashion fur farming industry. So if you're thinking of buying fur, think of these little faces and go with faux fur! 🦊💕🌎
