Self-publishing is a great way to step into the comics industry. Comics writer Jim Ousley will walk us through the ups and downs of self-publishing. Joining local comics collectives, crowdfunding, and pitching to publishers are all steps towards making your mark in the comics industry!
Jim Ousley is the Eisner-nominated writer of The Atonement Bell, Butcher Queen: Black Star City and Butcher Queen: Planet of the Dead, published by Red 5 Comics. Besides being a contributor to Storm King Comics’ John Carpenters Tales for a Halloween Night , he also wrote the horror anthology The Dead Palace and co-wrote the action-comedy anthology The Rough & Tumble. He is currently at work on his next series The Agony of Stars and lives in St. Louis with his wife Terese, sons Jordan and Jace, & his dog Maisy who is trying to eat his house.
