This quote hit me hard. Starting this business has been such a blessing and an opportunity I will forever cherish. But honestly, it’s SUPER intimidating!

Ever heard of imposter syndrome? Yeah, I’ve got that. 🙋‍♀️

The thing is… I know I’ve got the skills to impact my clients and provide them undeniable results, but when you move to a new town, start a new business, and realize all the other amazing social media agencies in the area – it’s easy to sell yourself short and feel like you’re behind.

Post Size Dimensions 101

A common mistake I notice with small businesses on social media is using the wrong post size dimensions across platforms, specifically on Instagram.

Instagram posts can be both vertically or horizontally oriented. It’s important to maximize the posting space to capture the most attention on the “scroll”.

👉 For example: when your audience is scrolling through their Instagram feed (catching up on all the latest 💁‍♀️), you want your post to be the primary focus — not the next brand’s post underneath yours.

💡 To accomplish this, the best post size dimension would be 1080x1350. This size also allows you to include more details in your graphic or campaign ad.

This rule of thumb is especially *perfect* for YOUR business if you’re sharing:
👉 New Menu Launch or Holiday Menus
👉 Special Events (i.e. event flyer)

✨ IDEAL POST DIMENSIONS FOR IG ✨
▪️ 1080x1080 | Portrait / Square
▪️ 1080x1350 | Portrait
▪️ 1080x566 | Landscape

👍 Pro Tip: Facebook has much more leniency with post size dimensions, so what you optimize for Instagram will work for Facebook, too.
