I just realized the a few people have visited my C & G Production page which I haven't written anything on. So this will be a good time to start with an update on this film I'm editing called "869". The film was written and directed by Keith Smith and I've got to tell you it has been a pleasure and I'm having a great time doing so. Keith has trusted me to make many of the decisions concerning this film. He told me what he was looking for especially with the ending which is the first thing I put together. Let's face it the ending in most films is very important. It tells the audience that the 90 minutes of their life they had just spent was worth it or not. Let me say it will be.
The first stage of this film I'm currently editing "869" is almost done. The director (Keith Smith) and I will go back over the film and tighten it up, make the necessary changes. Stage two is syncing the audio, the third stage will be sound effects, special effects and Foley followed by the music soundtrack.
As a side note, Special Effects fall into one of two categories: physical and digital effects. Physical effects include any effect that is not created using a computer for example creating smoke by using a smoke or dry ice machines. Digital effects are any effect using a computer with the help of editing software such as After Effects. The digital effect that is widely known is with the use of a blue or green screen where you can replace it with any background you wish. This is mostly used in science fiction movies.
