What is your perception of people? Do you judge before truly knowing them? These images, titled "Pigments of Perception," serves as a reminder of the beauty and complexity within each individual. Just like the interplay of colors and textures in art, every person is made up of unique experiences, emotions, and stories that are often hidden beneath the surface.

In The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, the third agreement, "Don't Make Assumptions," challenges us to stop filling in the blanks about others and start seeking the truth. Assumptions are easy—they allow us to draw conclusions without the effort of asking questions or gaining understanding. But assumptions also rob us of the opportunity to truly connect with others.

When we make assumptions about people, we create walls instead of bridges. We see only fragments of who they are, filtered through the lens of our own biases and insecurities. Just as you wouldn’t judge an unfinished painting, why judge a person without knowing their full story?
What if we took a different approach?
Instead of assuming someone’s intentions, what if we asked for clarity?
Instead of assuming their story, what if we listened?
Instead of assuming their worth, what if we celebrated their individuality?

The Four Agreements reminds us that the antidote to assumptions is communication. When we dare to ask questions and seek understanding, we discover the richness of others and, in turn, deepen our own human experience.

These images ask: What if we saw people like art? Complex, layered, and worthy of admiration. What if we gave them the space to reveal their true colors, rather than painting over them with our own assumptions?
How do you approach the world? Are you ready to stop assuming and start connecting? Let’s create a masterpiece of empathy and understanding.
