Interview with SkyeChristy

Primed for a breakthrough, buzzing Los Angeles duo SkyeChristy share a new single entitled “Beach Zombies” today and announce their signing to Warner Records.
“Beach Zombies” threads dusty acoustic guitar through a glitchy electronic haze punctuated by a sparse beat. Their hypnotic intonation practically hovers over the soundscape as airy harmonies entwine seamlessly. Fittingly, it culminates with a summery apocalyptic chant, “They want me, beach zombie.”
The release arrives on the heels of “I’m Not Like Alice,” “Sending Light (For Lucas)” and “Black Lake.” The sister duo is a sonic union of Georgia Christy Edwards and Sophie Skye Edwards. The Los Angeles natives began writing and recording music together in high school. They honed their voices in choir, even performing at Carnegie Hall as part of their school ensemble choir. Since 2020, they’ve unlocked the power of their familial harmony and have captivated fans around the globe. With their distinct signature sound and forthcoming debut project, the SkyeChristy’s bond will only grow stronger.

Interview with Matt Corby
We had the pleasure of interviewing Matt Corby over Zoom video!
Matt Corby recently released his new album Everything’s Fine, via Communion.
His first album in five years, Everything’s Fine vividly captures the personal and creative growth of Matt Corby who, like many, was tipped belly side up recently. Beyond the global touring pause, on the day he was meant to start recording his new album, Corby and his family were instead rescued by a neighbor. Their home had been engulfed by the flood waters that raged through Queensland and New South Wales, Australia, in early 2022. After nervously watching his heavily pregnant partner and young son be whisked away in a small inflatable dinghy, he got to work ferrying provisions to stranded locals and digging rotting mud out from beneath his home. With their home inundated by floodwaters, the whole family moved into Corby’s Rainbow Valley Studios during the album’s recording process. Juggling familial responsibilities with his creative pursuits was a one-of-a-kind pressure cooker circumstance that galvanized his artistic evolution.
Firmly fixed on seeing the best of things, Matt reveals “I'm at a really beautiful point in my life. I'm accepting all this stuff: the good and the bad, but particularly the bad. Which is kind of great. It’s a good thing to come to that point. Life isn't always magical, but the moments that are, well you really value them. I think this record is about that, about managing your actual reality. Sometimes I have those moments when you realize: well I'm still breathing, you still have the gift of life, so everything is fine I guess?”
About Matt Corby:
Recorded at his Rainbow Valley Studios with Chris Collins (Gang of Youths, Middle Kids, Skegss), Matt Corby's third studio album Everything's Fine picks up where his 2020 stand-alone singles, “If I Never Say A Word” and “Vitamin” left off after his J Award-winning 2018 LP Rainbow Valley. In the time since, Matt announced the laun
Interview with Bury Tomorrow
We had the pleasure of interviewing Bury Tomorrow over Zoom video!
It's never too late to be what you might have been. Sometimes you just need a push to take the plunge. Few people would be greater advocates for this truth than Bury Tomorrow.
Faced 18 months ago, following a period of external and internal strife, with the very real reality that it might be time to pack up their successes and close the book on a storied career of 15 years, with their hands forced and backs to the wall Bury Tomorrow instead picked up fate's gauntlet and set about writing the chapter they had always imagined.
The Seventh Sun stands as testament to the bonds and belief required to shape themselves a new reality, a new sound, and a new future.
Refocused yet no more restrained, the album's expanded sonic palette platforms sky-high melodies, layered with textured atmosphere, cloaking an underlying savagery.
The thematic threads weaved through The Seventh Sun are met in kind by a throughline that musically stitches together each of its 12 tracks — an idea that guitarist Kristan Dawson has sought to execute for years. "Every single song sets up the next part of the record," he reveals. "I wanted it to feel like a one long body of work." In doing so, the album takes on its own kind its own sonic story-telling. "I feel like I was musically at where Dan was at lyrically," Dawson suggests.
All of this combines, as Winter-Bates asserts, to exhibit "the best version of Bury Tomorrow people will have heard." Positivity, and possibility, now seems boundless, where not so long ago doubts persisted. "That is as much to do with Tom (Prendergast — keys/vocals) and Ed (Hartwell — guitar) joining the band as it is about the rest of us," Dawson notes. "I think we'd convinced ourselves at times that we weren't friends, when actually, we're family. You can't have this sort of life experience and not be and not be as emotionally connected to each other as we are."

Interview with Eloise
We had the pleasure of interviewing Eloise over Zoom video!
23-year-old London-based singer-songwriter Eloise releases her debut album Drunk On A Flight via AWAL, available everywhere now!
Branching out beyond the soft, jazz-tinged soul of her early work, Drunk On A Flight sees Eloise broadening her horizons and applying her pop nous to a much wider palette of sounds. It is a coming of age album about embracing the moment; a heartbreak record that empowers listeners to luxuriate in their feelings –however messy or complicated they may be. Eloise’s timelessness, vulnerability, and whip-smart lyrics effortlessly captivate the attention of listeners.
The album’s title track and first single, “Drunk On A Flight,” is a breezy pop anthem that puts Eloise’s natural songwriting abilities at the forefront, the song tells the tale of a love gone sour. “Giant Feelings” details the complicated, messy emotions that Eloise is trying to confront following the end of her relationship. The accompanying music video, directed by Tess Lafia and shot in one take, sees Eloise lamenting over her past relationship while looking out over the city of Los Angeles and ruefully hoping it rains on her former partner. Eloise shows her cleverness and songwriting prowess in the third single, “Therapist,” a whip-smart, sorry-not-sorry “diss track” skewering emotional codependency with kiss-offs like, “you’re acting like a boy but I fell for a man.” As Cool Hunting said, Eloise has a true talent for making “expressive, absorbing pop.” The focus track of the album, “I Take It Back,” circles back to the flight mentioned in the album’s opener. It’s an upbeat, catchy track that details the back-and-forth emotions of a confusing relationship and Eloise reassuring the subject that in case her plane crashes, she takes back the negative things she’s said. The visualizer for the new track provides a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the new record.

We had the pleasure of interviewing DWLLRS over Zoom video!
The indie-pop California-duo DWLLRS put out an emotional, beautifully written stripped-down new track called “End Of It All.
On the track, the duo share: “’End Of It All’” is us not wanting to have any fundamental regrets when everything is said and done. We know what kind of life we want to experience, and this song is us aching to fulfill the hope we have for a life well lived. Things will always get in the way — but those things play into the duality of love, life, and purpose. This song is a step into our future — and a confident nod to life’s impermanence.”
If you’re unfamiliar with DWLLRS, you may know their single “Blue Spirits” - it is currently trending Top 10 on TikTok’s US Top Songs chart, with over 100K creates in less than a month. The sound is consistently producing around 10K creates weekly.
About DWLLRS:
Under the influence of Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, BROCKHAMPTON, and more, DWLLRS have carefully honed a signature sound reliant on their respective identities in 2021. Interview with Taali
We had the pleasure of interviewing Taali over Zoom video!
Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer Taali unveils her evocative new single ‘It Comes For You.’ A seasoned songsmith who has collaborated with such luminaries as Aloe Blacc, Moby, José James and Mali Music, Taali has received acclaim in Billboard, NPR, KCRW and Bust Magazine.
Working with Grammy-winning bassist Ben Williams (who also plays with visionary jazz icons Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington) and drummer Dustin Kaufman (who also plays with other boundary-pushing acts like St. Lucia and Moon Boots), Taali takes us on a late night emotional journey through the wreckage of post-pandemic 2023. Waves of shifting synths and shimmering vocal choirs recast the downbeat ethereality of such artists as Beach House, St. Vincent, Portishead and Kate Bush, as Taali explores the peaks and valleys of experiencing - and ultimately overcoming - our collective modern trauma. The song is accompanied by an atmospheric lo-fi video that was shot on Taali’s journeys around the world over the last two years.
Out March 10, Taali’s upcoming self-titled album is her most ambitious and personal statement yet. Inspired by her Jewish roots and wandering spirit, taali features musicians from Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw Orchestra, and explores themes of hope and redemption amid our modern state of anxiety. Check out a 3-song sampler here.
“They say that there is nothing new under the sun. But, they, surely, had not heard of Taali yet. Taali, the singer-songwriter-producer is nothing short of refreshing.” -Bust Magazine
“What stands out most about Taali’s productions are the emphasis on vocals - ethereal in all the right spots and powerful when needed.” -KCRW
“Taali fuses a beguiling mix of layered vocals, chamber pop and avant-electronica to directly address trauma, love, and identity.” -Guitar Girl Magazine

Interview with Rowan Drake
We had the pleasure of interviewing Rowan Drake over Zoom video!
Rising singer-songwriter Rowan Drake has released his new song, “Elephant In The Room,” available now via Atlantic Records/Arthouse Records at all DSPs and streaming services.
With over 5 million views on Tik Tok/Instagram Reels prior to its full release, “Elephant In The Room” has already proven one of Drake’s most relatable releases.
“Elephant In The Room” follows a growing string of emotionally charged songs from the gifted singer-songwriter, including “Hollow,” “2 People, “Abandonment Issues,” and “Hey Little Sister;” official visualizers can be viewed at Drake’s YouTube channel. For Rowan, songwriting has always provided a space for transforming his feelings into unexpected beauty. Growing up in the small college town of Ithaca, New York, the singer-songwriter first discovered the power of that outlet when, at age 15, a devastating accident ended his dream of becoming a competitive snowboarder. After devoting nearly all his life to his snowboarding career, Drake began exploring his innate musicality by dreaming up his own hypnotic form of pop – moody, immersive, and fearlessly confessional, merging the intense introspection of classic singer/songwriters with a more forward-thinking sonic aesthetic. The talented young troubadour soon began performing locally around his hometown, self-releasing his first song while still in high school. Upon graduation, Drake packed up his car and moved to Los Angeles where he quickly connected with an array of rising young talents and potential collaborators. Currently hard at work creating more new music to follow throughout the year, Rowan Drake remains determinedly focused on preserving the immediate impact of unfiltered expression through deep connection with his fast-growing fan following.

Interview with Moon Boots
We had the pleasure of interviewing Moon Boots over Zoom video!
Talented keyboardist, DJ, and producer Moon Boots (Peter Dougherty) has revealed his third studio album ‘Ride Away’. The ten-track LP will land on March 17th on Anjunadeep.
Written and produced over a nearly two-year period beginning in early 2021, ‘Ride Away’ contains themes of love, companionship, and personal exploration. Hauling in a crate’s worth of musical influences, Moon Boots has imbued ‘Ride Away’ with his characteristic blend of soul, disco, and house music, whilst also introducing the sounds of synthpop, breakbeats, and psychedelica. Marrying these eclectic styles is part and parcel of Moon Boots’ idiosyncratic sensibility, honed through years of living and DJing in Chicago, the birthplace of house music, and in the musical melting pot of Brooklyn.
‘Ride Away’ follows in the footsteps of Moon Boots’s debut ‘First Landing’ (2017) and sophomore album ‘Bimini Road’ (2019). With an impressive catalogue atypical of the dance world, Dougherty’s third album represents both his tenacity and evolution as a producer and songwriter. The writing process was met with many difficult but rewarding experiences; creative bursts were balanced with instances of anxiety and self-doubt, yet Dougherty found the music writing process invigorating and cites his wife’s continual support and incoming firstborn daughter as encouraging him to move forward. Of course, more time in the studio allowed Dougherty to experiment with new creative processes (and mind-altering methods) over the course of the album’s formation.
Featuring a swathe of colourful vocalists including the likes of Cherry Glazerr, Dope Earth Alien, and Nic Hanson, ‘Ride Away’ celebrates Dougherty’s longstanding affinity for collaboration, fun effervescent songwriting, and dance-focused production. Other international artists on the album include French singer Praa and Norwegian band Ora The Molecule, whils

Tyler Posey is no stranger to the limelight. His storied acting and music career spans over a decade starring in dozens of TV shows and movies including Teen Wolf and Truth or Dare, as well as being a member of multiple bands including PVMNTS and Five North. In 2020, Posey decided to take a big step in his music career by becoming a solo artist.
Standing alone in the spotlight for the first time has been freeing in more ways than one, least of all when it comes to his courage to open up about the hell that was 2020. The early days of the COVID pandemic were particularly pronounced for him, exacerbating deep-rooted anxiety, depression and childhood trauma that manifested in a self-destructive pattern of drug and alcohol abuse. Left to his own devices while quarantine orders ruled Los
Interview with Peter Raffoul
We had the pleasure of interviewing Peter Raffoul over Zoom video!
For Nashville-based singer/songwriter Peter Raffoul, songs often emerge late into the night, at an hour when inhibitions fall away and the most essential truths are laid bare. With a lyrical sensibility that merges intimate confession and boldly detailed storytelling, the Canada-born artist opens up about anxiety and isolation and the more complicated aspects of human connection, elegantly matching his moody intensity with a mercurial form of alt-rock/folk. Made with producers Owen Lewis (Old Sea Brigade, Maddie Medley) and Henry Brill (Phantogram, Jack Garratt), Raffoul’s debut body of work reveals his undeniable gift for transforming pain into beauty—an element endlessly magnified by the pure warmth and power of his voice.
Originally from the small Ontario town of Leamington, Raffoul first embraced his stream-of-consciousness approach to songwriting in his late teens, when he spent countless hours teasing out songs in the clubhouse-like shed behind his family’s home. As the product of a highly musical family—his father Jody has played in rock bands for over three decades, his brother Billy is singer/songwriter signed to Interscope—Raffoul grew up immersed in the timeless records of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and began exploring his own musicality by taking up piano at 17. “The music I’m making today really comes from all that time I spent in the shed over the years,” notes Raffoul, now 27. “It was always a world away from everything, where I could mess around with songs on this little keyboard and figure out how to put chords and melodies to all the lyrics I had in my head.” Before long, he’d added guitar to his repertoire and created a song called “Maybe I Do,” a bittersweet but radiant track slated for his forthcoming debut EP. “I was trying to paint a picture of the start of a relationship where the other person seems so perfect, you’re almost waiting for someth
Interview with Can't Swim
We had the pleasure of interviewing Can't Swim Zoom video!
One of New Jersey’s prodigal sons once mused “who says you can’t go home?” – but CAN’T SWIM have never really left their Garden State surroundings.
Sure, they’ve certainly logged tens of thousands of miles over the past seven years, bringing their cathartic blend of rock, punk, and emo to audiences around the world on bills with A Day To Remember and Senses Fail and at festivals like 2000trees. But at their core, Can’t Swim are innately Jersey through and through: from the ghosts of Tri-State hardcore giants that oscillate through their high-octane sound to the very garages and studios where those songs take shape.
Now, the band plant their Garden State flag even deeper on their fourth LP, Thanks But No Thanks, an album that quite literally finds them going back to their roots.
After wrapping another slate of hard touring for 2021’s Change Of Plans, the group – vocalist Chris LoPorto, bassist Greg McDevitt, guitarist Danny Rico and drummer (and honorary Jersian) Blake Gamel – decamped to the Shore, insulating themselves in the comforts of home while working to hone in on the most elemental components of the Can’t Swim sound.
Joy has rarely been a word associated with Can’t Swim – awash in tempestuous lyricism and muscular energy since breaking into the underground with 2016’s Death Deserves A Name EP – but there’s a self-referential wryness to LoPorto’s lyrics on Thanks But No Thanks that winks its way through the album’s 10 songs, along with a finely tuned melodic edge that balances out the band’s more brooding nature.
With guitarist Rico overseeing production, mixing, and mastering (a position he held on 2017’s debut LP Fail You Again and 2018’s This Too Won’t Pass), first single “me vs. me vs. all y’all” is Can’t Swim’s most fully realized pop song to date, name-checking The Cure, The Lemonheads and Eddie Vedder, while the album-opening “Now
