Question for my real estate friends……… I have a listing that had minor damage from the tornado. Thankfully it’s vacant and no one was hurt.
Have you ever had contractors showing up because they received a text from someone asking them to meet them at the house and give an estimate to tear out and replace the front porch. Contractors show up, But the man never shows up, says he has an emergency and will only communicate via text.

Luckily I found out this was happening to the house Monday when I went by to do my routine check on the property and a contractor said a man claiming to own the home asked him to come out. Since Monday this same person who is absolutely not the owner requested 4 more contractors to come out and give estimates for the same thing.
It’s clearly a scam, I just can’t figure out why.
