No pressure bag in sight? 😱

No worries, take the blood pressure cuff and manually inflate. You can control the drip rate on this one by inflating more or deflating to your liking 💁‍♀️

As a traveling nurse, I have seen some facilities not utilize pressure bags and have minimum pumps on the unit, yet we are still expected to follow out the orders despite a lack of resources - know the tools you have at hand baby to protect yourself! 😉

I am so thankful it is Friday & is my true Friday 😅 Nursing is an odd profession, I said to a patient "I worked the last 3 nights, but sadly only have 2 nights off before coming back." They said "Most people only get 2 days off...."

Tell me what made you want to join the healthcare field? My story is ⤵️

I used to job hop every 6 months - I started out doing hair(2012), then worked at CFA (2012), AT&T(2013), Geico(2013), tried my own cleaning business(2014), Hampton Inn(2014), & finally started as a MA in a Gastro/Rheumatology office(2014).

In 2015, I decided that I was capable & smart enough to go to school for nursing. I got a job at my local hospital as a receptionist, then PCT, MT, Nurse Extern while in nursing school. I sadly never had a RN badge for the first ever hospital I worked at - but I pray that changes soon 😉

A message to nursing students ⤵️

I never gave myself the fair shot - not the first, second, or even third time - in college. I always underestimated my own abilities, alongside how far passion & determination will take you. I am my families first generation college graduate, previously with an associate's in psychology. Five years ago, I graduated with my BSN, a day I never thought I would see. I lost my father in March of 2019 unexpectedly and horrifically. He was my best friend, a single father since I was 6 months old, who did EVERYTHING for me. It was a devastating blow and still is. I had an instructor tell me, "You have to make an 88 on this next exam and the final to pass. You have to do this, Samantha." My other 3 exam grades were 68, 76, 74 - so an 88 wasn't something I had even done before or close to for that matter. I felt like I was already defeated. However, I didn't stop there and let that be the end. I buckled down, stayed busy, and used my Dad's passing for motivation. We had just spoken about how in 5 weeks I would be graduating & how proud I was as well as excited he was. I had to do it for him and myself. I sat for the NCLEX, had 88 questions, about 80 of them I felt uneasy about - seriously. Fast forward 5 years, I have a license number. I am a nurse. This has been a long, emotional journey that has changed me inside and out. I have learned so much and I have never settled or passed up an educational opportunity.

Thank you all for keeping me going another day & know you will make it through this chapter ❤

Hey y'all! 🌟 I'm Samantha, but you can call me Sam – your friendly travel nurse rolling around in an RV adventure! 🚐💨 I've been rocking the healthcare scene since 2015, officially donning the nursing cape in June 2019, and diving headfirst into the travel nursing world since March 2021.

My journey has been a wild ride – 18 facilities, 11 states, from level 1 trauma centers to an urgent care on an Indian reservation. 🌎 Whether it's bustling trauma or a serene reservation, I've seen it all!

Grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. Travel nursing has allowed me to crisscross the US in ways I never imagined – both in miles and income! 💰 I thrive on meeting new faces, soaking in diverse experiences, and navigating through different healthcare systems.

My name is Samantha, but I go by Sam for short
I was born & raised in the 🍑 state
My main squeeze is Jacob 💗

We have lived in a RV setting since January of 2021

We haul around our 5, 4-legged fur babies:
2 dogs - Boone & Butters
3 cats - Fetty, Max, & Ally

I am a nurse 👩‍⚕️ & have been since June of 2019
I have been travel nursing since March of 2021
Since then I have worked at over 18 facilities 🏥
While working in 11 different states ⤵️

Georgia > Ohio > Tennessee > Arizona > Wyoming > Texas > North Carolina > California > Washington > South Carolina > Idaho

I specialize in Medical-Surgical, specifically Ortho 🦴
I love my geriatric patients 👴💗👵

I dilly-dallied in ER, ICU, Pre&Post-OP, ENDO, & even management, however I always return to the floor.
