Thanks everyone for the birthday love!💗 Yesterday I woke up to something we knew was coming, just didn’t know when. The legacy of Nelbro (Nelson Brothers) Trucking garage came down. My grandfather, Great-Uncle Myron (and I’ll add the rest when I get the info from the elder Nelson’s or commenters 👀 - I’m still working on my memory recall y’all) other family and friends in the community built it and then when a hurricane knocked it down, they rebuilt it (around 1938/1939). Their business carried cargo from Long Island farms up and down the East Coast. I’m told they were the first black company to have license to drive across the country. They also owned a gas station in town at one point (made sense ⛽️).

It also had apartments upstairs that many family and friends called Home. ❤️ It will be strange not seeing that building standing tall and mighty but the memories we have we’ll always carry and tell the stories! 🍻🥂💞
