We can also scan your slides and pictures and put them DVD so you have a digital back up of your pictures. I started Ready Play Productions in early 2011 to provide editing services for families with tons of home videos. I come from a family where we recorded almost every event, big or small...we brought the video camera everywhere. Technology keeps changing and since older video cameras recorded
on Hi8 tapes, it’s difficult to watch them. Now that our family Hi8 tapes are on DVD it’s much easier to appreciate them and also make fun of ourselves. Wow fashion and hair styles have changed. It’s hard to believe because back then we thought we were so cool, I’m afraid what we’re going to think of our fashion sense in 10 years. I graduated from Oakland University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Film Studies in 3 years. Lots of summer and night classes, I pushed myself so I could get my degree and begin working. I interned for the Berkley School District over the summer of 2009 and was offered a job at the end of the summer. While working at the Berkley School District I began to realize the importance of video, whether it be graduations, inductions, plays, concerts, or an event in a classroom. Capturing moments, especially at school going age, became an important aspect of my work. Speaking of capturing moments, I’ve worked for Fifth and Main Productions, a cinematic wedding videography company, since I graduated from Oakland. Going to weddings and capturing the bride and groom’s special day adds to my belief of the importance of video. Over the summer of 2009 I got offered a full time job doing website support and creation. I walked website administrators through how to use their website and also adding their information to their site. Being attached to a desk from 9-6 was not my idea of fun and I left that job in December 2010. I realized I could use my knowledge of video to start my own video editing and transfer company, and that’s where I’m at today! We can take your videos, transfer them to DVD, and also create videos using the footage. What I’ve done with my family videos is transferred them all to DVD (from Hi8 tapes), put all the footage to an external hard drive as a backup, and organized all the footage into categories including, me, my brother, my sister, my parents, up north, and holidays. Using those categories I have been able to compile the footage into short highlight videos. And that’s what I want to do with your tapes- create a family collection you can enjoy from years to come.
