Good design takes time.

Very rarely do I experience a design going through less than 3 edits. Most are more.

Amy Weiher wrote this LinkedIn article and it’s so true. The last two weeks I have had the amazing privilege to begin work on 3 new design projects.

I have found myself wanting to apologize for the time it takes, but to do so lessens the value of the work that I do.

So communicating the time needs to become more clear in the process. But I am always thankful for the feedback received on my work.

Creating the brand board is my favorite piece of the process. 👏💕 The branding sets the tone for the entire project.

Identifying target audience, using color psychology, choosing the fonts, and creating a way to speak a thousand words without saying anything.

The Lord has had this scripture ringing in my ears the last couple of weeks. It is a reminder that we are not alone. That even in our weaknesses He is there, with us, making His power perfectly known to us!

So go out this week with your head held high and be aware of His presence with you, of His Spirit active around you and through you.

I have shared my story before (check my pinned post). I was at a point when my only option was to pray, put my head down & go to work. So I did.

Since that post in August, I...

✨ Added 4 more clients to my reach

🗓 "Content Calendar! Content Calendar! Content Calendar!" 🗓

You hear this shouted at companies all the time. You find yourself going, "Yea I know.... but... how?" Then rolling your eyes, and scrolling on!

Can you believe there was a time not that long ago when I didn't know for sure what a content calendar was?!.... 🤦‍♀️

Not that I didn't know the concept, but seriously no one was telling the details, everyone wanted to sell a template or a service or whatever.

Trust me, I am all about that! 👏

However, I knew from my past experiences with other calendar types that I would need to be able to customize my own.

I now manage multiple clients' calendars and still use the free version. The paid version is awesome and has some cool features though!

I’ve recently started writing for a copywriting company and man it’s been an adventure! I haven’t written in APA format in a while.

I’ve gotten to write for a law firm and a physical therapist.

It’s been a nice brain break from the strategy and formulating, which is my favorite part of my job! Writing as an outlet at the moment is just a different shift.

I am so beyond thankful to have the opportunity to work with each of you!! This will be a great time, and I know you will be thankful you took the time to learn these skills! 💪 💫

FAQs:

1️⃣ What, other than my laptop, do I need to bring?
You’ll want to have access to your brand report.
- target audience details
- messaging style
- clear offers
- etc.

2️⃣ How much time should I plan for?
The teaching time will last no longer than 30 - 40 minutes. After that, we will begin the guided walkthrough. I will be available until 11:00a

3️⃣ Can I bring my child?
Yes! I have a 4-year-old who will be there. I do recommend being prepared with snacks, tablets, etc. so that you can focus.

4️⃣ You said 6 months of content ready. Can you explain what you mean?
You will learn the tools and have a system in place so that you can easily have 6 months of your content calendar laid out and ready to go. You may not have the full copy written, or the videos/images complete, but you will know exactly what you're doing for the next 6 months.

5️⃣ What if I don't have a laptop?
You can use a tablet or your phone. You will have access to every app in a mobile version. Laptops are just a little easier to work on when you're working on big chunks like this.

All of these amazing goals that you have currently set are no doubt, outcomes, results. Instead of fixating on specific outcomes like losing weight or saving money, let's consider a different approach.

Paige Rains Photography came over and produced outstanding brand photos for me!

Y’all may not know this, but I haven’t always lived in this body. And as a marketer I know that connecting with you on a more personal level is necessary and would take a lot of vulnerability.

Paige showed up and worked her magic! ✨ But she started working long before she came over. In our first call she allowed me to be honest and asked specifically about my vulnerabilities.

Her entire process is so thought out. I began immediately getting emails with comforting tips that walked me through her process. I knew exactly what to expect, what to have ready and what we were doing.

Ooo creators let’s chat!

It’s funny because I literally have a memo written on my board that says “to sacrifice quality for quantity is NOT in my nature and not a shininess let go from a marketing position who was loosing clients in a moment where quality matters.”

Now I’m a content marketer with a skill set in copywriting and strategy that is much heavier than a video creating skill (shout at me video content creators looking for collabs! 😉)

But I find this an interesting perspective on the industry and not too far off from my own positioning.

The last month my home has experienced the weight of dealing with, and healing, mental health.

It is so interesting to me that even though I am not the one experiencing this journey firsthand, as a mother/wife you carry the weight of your loved one’s journey in a different way.

I am a business owner.
I am a wife.
I am a mother.
I am a human being.

I have figured out how to keep things afloat, take care of my clients, and care for my family. We have tried to live life normally, and all the while I have needed to be emotionally and spiritually availible to my loved one.

As things begin to settle, I feel my body coming out of “just do it” mode and begin to release, begin to feel, begin to process.

And in these moments I am so thankful for the one around me! I am thankful for the businesses and business owners who believe in and value the work I provide them.

I not only get to support my family, I get to support your business! I get to use the weirdly creative brain that God gave me to serve my clients. This is what sets me apart. How I take care of my family, what keeps me focused, and how I serve my clients. Forward motion. Not drowning in desperate circumstances.

So thank you for being here with me. Thank you for being real people who are working in real stress and just trying to figure out your own life, your own business, and your own teams.
