Good morning.

So for any of you who may be wondering, “Why have posts from JRP stopped/slowed down?” …I took some time away from posting. This is for a couple different reason.

One being that social media in today’s political climate is both exhausting and tough to post alongside. Polarizing topics like politics have taken social media by storm. So little old music fan me has been strugglin’…but for those who are handling much worse out there, please be safe. I care way more about ya’ll’s well being than some number on social media.

So anyway… my views were mad low. I reached out to some fellow content creators and friends in the scene and they provided some insightful tips in order to “hopefully” reach a wider group.

With that being said, here are some of the things I am going to change.

1. The segment “AMJams” will be trimmed, cleaned up and made to where it’s just not so busy. I was providing info in the template of those videos when I could put about 50 percent of it in the description. So from the next post forward, it will be listing the title, band name, logo and song along with the video snippet and that’s it. I have plenty of resources available to find out all the extra information. If you can’t find it, please reach out!

2. Much like “AMJams” my segment for “Top Vs. Favorite” is gonna be trimmed down a bunch as well. There was A LOT going on in those videos and I feel if we streamline it and make it a little cleaner, it’ll be a little more enjoyable.

3. “Album Rank and Review” I will actually try and be on camera for. It will still be the same format as I’ve had it, but instead of a blurred video in the background, you’ll be seeing my ugly mug. Also, I don’t really “review” albums outside of surface level non musician opinions, so it’ll probably have a name change. Songs will still be ranked. May even do some arbitrary star system…idk. Point is, in an effort to get these to stand out, you’ll see me.

4. “This or That” will be pretty much the same. I’d like to focus on one song at a time but may even bump it up to two or three. Just to HOPEFULLY get around TikTok’s licensing stuff, which is understandable but annoying.

5. The format for “JRagnarok Reacts” and “Blegh! Another Breakdown” will stay the same. Those do okay, for the most part. I know I’m no Hardcore Keem or Ohrion, but we get em done. Always trying to do a little bit better with each video.

6. Live videos, while I have a ton, have been a process to get uploaded. Truthfully, I forget to upload them and I set on them for months (or years…shut up). So I’m gonna make it a priority to upload 1-3 live videos that I have banked per week. Also, once they’re uploaded, I delete them from my phone. So if you band folk would like those videos, let me know. Otherwise, they can be downloaded from YouTube.

7. I will try and get my weekly schedule of what to expect out to you all in posts to hopefully create buzz for segments. We’ve been starting monthly schedules for reactions, but I want to keep yall informed on the smaller scale as well.

8. Lastly, I’m going to try to do more research into hashtags, collaborations and post times. Once I find what is helpful, I’ll try and be a bit more consistent with all of that.
