It is a winter wonderland in south Texas this morning. We are going to have to wait until the snow melts to do some harvesting for the Pearl Farmers Market - San Antonio, TX which occurs on Saturday morning. By the way I ate one of the cherry tomatoes pictured and it tasted great. We are just at the freezing point so most of the garden should survive other than the tomatoes and peppers.

We will be at Pearl Farmers Market - San Antonio, TX, tomorrow with daikon and watermelon radishes, broccoli, salad and purple top turnips, chard, arugula, spinach, radish and sunflower shoots and tomatoes. Hope to see you there.

We had a big order for watermelon and daikon radishes over the weekend, just a few hundred bunches of each or so. Today at Wimberley Farmer's Market we will have some of these radishes as well as green onions, swiss chard, arugula, bok choi, salad turnips, purple top turnip and tomatoes. Come on out and see us from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Wimberley Community Center.

Wholesome Harvest Farm wil be bringing a couple of varieties of muskmelons to the Pearl Farmers Market - San Antonio, TX, tomorrow. They make a refreshing snack when chilled on these hot summer days.

The kitchen staff from Cured at Pearl came out to the farm last Sunday and lived a day in the life of a farmer. They harvested crops, cucumbers, okra and squash. Then they planted seeds for a fall winter squash crop as well as transplants for a fall crop of asian greens. And of course gathered chicken and duck eggs. Best of all Chef William Rivera and the crew provided a great meal for Farmer John and his family. Normally the folks at Cured pick up their produce at Pearl Farmers Market - San Antonio, TX, but Chef William wanted them to get some insight as to what it takes to bring the produce to market. I think a great time was had by all. I would like to thank Chef/Owner Steven McHugh of Cured at Pearl for letting his folks come out to the farm for the experience.
