Authors, Publishers and Readers of Independent Literature (APRIL)

A festival of literature from small and independent presses. APRIL started as Small Press Bookfest at Pilot Books, in 2010.

Authors, Publishers and Readers of Independent Literature, or APRIL, is a festival of only small press and independent literature. Small Press Bookfest featured more than 30 readings at Pilot Books throughout the month of March. In 2011, the festival became Small Press Festival (SPF), and held readings, parties, a book expo and more all over the city. Due to some naming issues, we changed our name

to APRIL shortly following the end of SPF 2011 and the closure of Pilot Books. We're taking the spirit of the late bookstore--all independent press literature, all the time--and channeling it into the literary festival that Seattle deserves.
