It’s been 4 years since my first set for on YouTube, now with over 250k plays 🙏 It brought so many of you into my corner & I’m grateful for that (and so is Beans 😸🥰)

I do all the video production for my sets myself, and it took me about a week to create the background visuals for this one. Including a few days just for poring over various experimental, German expressionist, 70s exploitation and giallo horror films to find the perfect clips 🎥

Here’s a little background into the visuals for you—

One theme I’ve always been interested in exploring is the subversion of religious purity with female sexuality, and I used several clips to explore this concept as well as overarching themes of intimacy and connection.

I’ve also always been intrigued by artistic representations of hands. Hands are the ultimate bridge to connection, acting to close the physical barrier, but also as a nonstop tool for everyday tasks. They are essential and basic but also harness the power to transcend the sense of sight into touch. 🫳

Amongst others, I used clips from Rapsodia Satanica (Satan’s Rhapsody, 1917) an Italian classic film known as the female version of Faust, where a woman makes a pact with the devil for eternal youth.

And clip #7 here uses Genuine: A Tale of a Vampire (1920, follow-up to Thomas Heine’s The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) ), a German Expressionist classic 🧛‍♀️ Some of the first modern goth style took inspiration from this sort of dark silent film aesthetic 🕸️
