In honor of it being the last day of Mental Health Awareness Month and mental health is something I'm very passionate about, especially when it comes to entrepreneurship, I thought I would dedicate a post to it in hopes it can help others and be a comfort that you're not alone. 🤍
I've honestly never struggled with my mental health more than through being an entrepreneur. I've had to work on separating myself from my business as its own entity.
Some of the biggest lessons I've been working through have had to deal with healing from trauma that has been stored in my body and regulating my nervous system.
If I can share any nuggets of advice that I've learned along the way, it's to...
- SET BOUNDARIES: Setting boundaries with clients and yourself. Turn your phone off at a certain time. Allow yourself to have a morning routine before starting work as soon as you wake up. Say no when something doesn’t feel like a HECK YES.
- TAKE BREAKS: Schedule some time between your schedule to take a step back and reconnect back with yourself.
- STOP COMPARING: Everyone’s path is different. Don’t compare your first day to someone’s 100th.
- REFLECT ON YOUR SUCCESS: Small wins are still wins. Take time to celebrate those!
- CONNECT WITH YOUR PASSIONS: Don’t let your job take over your life. Still do the things you love outside of work. IE: hiking, pottery, reading a book
- TALK POSITIVELY TO YOURSELF: Your thoughts become your reality. Talk nicely to yourself. Be your biggest fan.
