The importance of social media branding — let’s chat about it.

Building your brand on social media is a multi-layered effort that requires you to take many things into account.

Which include:

→ Logo
→ Mission statement
→ Brand Values
→ Brand font

Your customers should be able to understand who your brand is, what your values are, why they should trust you, and what your message is. From your visual identity, voice, and tone to how you interact with your followers and the stories you tell, it’s vital that you build a cohesive brand presence that your audience can recognize and trust.

Good, consistent social media branding is among the most powerful tools for fostering brand recognition and awareness – which can be the difference between somebody choosing to buy with your brand or your competitors.

Social media without a strategy is like throwing together random ingredients, hoping to create a 5-star meal. News flash, it just doesn’t work that way. Key factors involved in creating a successful social media strategy:

1)Set goals that align with your business goals. Define what you want to achieve and dictate how you will invest your time and energy. This will also help track the right metrics while messing your ROI.

2)Identify who your target audience will be. In order to create a successful plan, you need to understand who you’re communicating with, down to their biggest pain point and most pressing need. The effectiveness of your communication will be based on how well you know your audience. This is key!
3)Select the right social media platforms wisely. Keep in mind that certain social platforms that work for others doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you. Narrow down the social platforms you want to invest in.

4)Determine the metrics you want to measure. An effective social media strategy is built on performance and in order to get the most out of your data, keep what’s working and delete what’s not working. Try not to focus too much on generic metrics but instead focus on metrics that align with your goals.

5)Conduct a competitive analysis. Every now and then it’s important to check out what your competitors are doing in order to identify what’s working and and what’s not. This can help guide you to see what others are doing well and aren’t doing well and can help you improve your strategy.

6)Create engaging content and connect with your audience! Content is the driving force of social media but it’s important to keep in mind that engaging with your audience is KEY. Take time to respond to comments and DM’s, ask for feedback (this let’s them know you care about what they want and how they feel!), and engage with their content. Building a community is crucial when trying to grow a brand on social.

Your social media strategy is not a one and done deal, it’s okay to switch things up and evolve.

We hate to break it to you, but social media IS a full-time job

It’s easy to underestimate the amount of time and energy it takes to create any kind of success in the social media space. You can’t just hope to put in a few hours a week into your social media and hope for overnight success. It just isn’t going to happen.

Just like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. This is where a social media agency comes in. We do ALL of this for you!
