THIS WEEKEND, MANY WILL VISIT A CHURCH, MANY WILL SAY A PRAYER. NEED TO REVIEW WHAT PRAYER LOOKS LIKE?
1. When you pray, you're saying, God, let's have a conversation.
2. There are many wonderful names for God: Lord Almighty, The Lord of Heaven's Armies, God Most High, and Abba / Daddy, to name a few.
3. If you're praying for others, you are choosing to come alongside, you are standing together with someone else as they have a need that God can meet.

We put ourselves in a position of humility. We are asking the Almighty to hear our need, to meet our need, to respond to the matter that is on our hearts.

God is good with the struggle, He named Israel, Israel, which means "struggles with God."

The word of God has many examples of prayers to pray. (1 Samuel 2, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalm 91, John 6, Romans 8:31-39.) But if we begin and we end in a spirit of thankfulness and appreciation, God will hear and answer.

As a Christian, I pray "thank you God for the good things you've already done," even for the things that are not already done. Hebrews 11:1 gives courage to us. Faith is being sure of the things hoped for, certain of the things we do not see.

Pray for your leaders. Pray for your nation. Pray for the poorest nation (e.g. Burundi in the world, Haiti in our hemisphere.) Pray that God opens your heart to the needs of others around you today.

Happy Easter. I'm praying for you to receive the power of God to transform your circumstances for good (Isaiah 61.) Receive the power of God's grace and good news today.
Soli Deo Gloria, to God alone be the glory.

William the conqueror? He started out as William the bastard. He was an illegitimate child of a Lord in France. You know him as the man who conquered England at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Rather than let what others say dictate his future. He decided to train and become the best leader of knights in Europe at the time. He found a way to overcome the powers of his day. What are you going to say about your future? What are you saying about your favor today? IT'S NOT WHAT OTHERS SAY THAT MATTERS. DO YOU WANT TO BE MIGHTY? DECLARE IT. Believe it. Set down the things that are a waste of your time and begin to pursue your great big dream. The miracle makers, those with a fixed purpose who relentlessly develop their abilities. They create the next chapter. Maybe it's time for you to think about the name that you let others say, and the name that you want to say. WHO DO YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE? GO APPLY YOURSELF AND PUT IN THE TIME AND THE ENERGY TO DEVELOP YOU TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

God’s favor surrounds me as with a shield” (see Psalm 5:12).

It was a beautiful historical home in Dallas Texas. It was a very high paying job, in downtown Dallas 3 miles away. And every day that I went to work I knew that it wasn't the right job for me.

So what was going on? I believe that I was in a wonderful test. Would I listen to the friend who said she talked to God everyday? Would I listen to my boss who said he was a religious man?

Or, would I listen to my heart, my soul, and my prayers to God?

Everyday at my job there was no work for me to do. Every day at my job there were people who told me I was worthless. Every day at my job no one even came into the office to work where I worked. There were more than 200 perfectly arranged standing desks with the most expensive technology I've ever seen. And no one came into the office.

It was the strangest job I have ever had. For 90 days they had me rework one PowerPoint 18 times. The PowerPoint was done when they handed it to me. But the ultra micromanaging, controlling executives kept asking for something opposite of what they had asked for the week before. This company had a deep bench of great talent and they didn't listen to any of them.

So when the opportunity arose, I followed God to another business.

When that opportunity fell apart, I followed God back to Scottsdale Arizona.

That's where He had told me again and again, I have a plan to prosper you in this great city. Be faithful. Be prayerful. Follow Me.

Even if someone is paying me $330,000 to sit in a corner and do nothing -- and they were! -- I know there is more in life meant for me.

My friend, what kinds of tests? What kinds of trials? What are you willing to go through to follow God to His higher place for you?

So how long can you go in a system where your work is not valued? When you work for a gambler, who cheats his way through business, can you ever feel trust? When you work for an arrogant consultant, who lies about his team, boasts about his successes, and never takes responsibility for failure, can you ever enjoy your work? When you work for a cheater, someone who cheats often in personal and business relationships, can you ever believe you are a valuable member of the team?

I study what leaders do in crisis. When crises start multiplying in society and business, who steps up to lead? It may be time for you to build what you love to the next level, to lead a new, bigger conversation. Grow your nonprofit and service projects, build your business bigger, and change the story for good.
