It’s not too early to get registered for the Color Me For A Cure 5K Color Walk/Run, which will be held on Saturday, July 29th, at Dale’s Weston Lanes!

This fundraiser event is presented in memory of Breanne Sleater, who lost her battle, at the young age of 24, with Adrenal Cortical Cancer (ACC), a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.

The color walk/run takes off at 4:00 p.m. (and features a children scavenger hunt along the route), followed by raffles, food, and fun beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Proceeds from this event will be donated towards research of Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma and to help canter patients at the Aspirus Family House, a place for patients to stay while receiving treatments.

Learn more and/or register for the event: https://www.breannesmemorialfoundation.com/. When you register online, you will earn 5 free raffle tickets!

Please help in making this very special event successful by sharing this post!

Did you know the Cedar Creek area roads are now open to ATV/UTV traffic?! Travel on County XX is still prohibited, however it can be crossed which now opens the Cedar Creek area up to Kronenwetter ATV routes. This change also allows Lang Equipment LLC to offer test drives and riders coming in to the shop for repair. We're excited to open this route up and look forward to more possible expansion as the ATV/UTV recreation community continues to grow.

Send in your photos for a chance to win some free pool passes this summer!

As we start our process of redesigning our website, we wanted to involve the community in the process by getting feedback about our current site. But we didn’t want to just stop there. We would love it if the community had a hand in helping us build it. We are opening a contest for people in the community to submit pictures (up to 10) that they have taken in the Village of Weston. The chosen photos will be featured on our new site and with the permission of the photographer, credit will be displayed on each photo. Winners will also be given 10 daily pool passes to the Weston Aquatic Center as well as entered into a drawing for a family season pass for the 2023 season. Please join in for some fun by going to https://arcg.is/1z1Svz0 to submit your photos. Submissions will be accepted from now to May 31.

“Scouting for food is an annual initiative, that Samoset Council and other councils around the country do to collect food for people who don’t have the resources to get their own food and help fight food insecurity,” explained Kevin Townshend.

Scouts from the Samoset Council will begin canvassing neighborhoods on Saturday, March 25. They will leave an orange flier on the doors of homes with instructions on how to participate in the food collection.

Let's not forget that tragic day.

Though six years years have passed, we remember the sacrifice and loss of Karen Barclay, Dianne Look, Sara Quirt-Sann, and Detective Jason Weiland. We keep their families in our thoughts and prayers. They are an integral part of our communities and lives.

We cherish the memories and times we had with Detective Weiland. Jason, you are truly missed!
