A look at some exciting results we got our client last month & a deep dive into HOW we got them. 🫶

At the end of May, our non-profit client had a super awesome event, and we knew we wanted to promote it fully, but we also wanted to continue our typical content strategy and not take away from the overall brand message.

✨With each of our clients, we spend a few days before the start of each new month planning out our content strategy for that month. We look into upcoming holidays, events, company updates, launches, etc., and plan a strategy that will not only get reach and eyes on the content... but also get the RIGHT reach and eyes on the content.

We’ve all seen it by now... how easy it can be to get that reach and how frustrating it can be when you get that incredible reach but it doesn’t translate into followers, link clicks, or engagement on other posts.

Unless your only goal is to go viral for increased reach, those metrics are not going to do much for you, at least not unless you can get that reach from your ideal audience.

The last two months have been so crazy and non-stop. I’m so proud and thankful for this business I’ve built, my incredible clients, and the community I have with me. 🫶 🌲

I often feel a ton of pressure when it comes to perfectionism and showing up consistently. I get way too stuck in my head when it comes to talking about my business and the work I get to do - but it’s something I’m working on (aka practicing what I preach.)

Ever wondered what our process for prospective clients may look like? 🤔💭

Meeting potential clients is one of my FAVORITE things. Well, meeting business owners in general is something I love doing, so this process is my baby.

I strive to have a really chill and dynamic yet straightforward process when meeting with prospective clients. I never want a business owner to feel stressed or like they are somehow trapped once they inquire with us.

Our discovery call process is simple - I want to talk with you, learn about your needs, explain how our services can help, and then build you a customer proposal. Nothing more. If you like our proposal and want to move forward and become our client (which typically is the case if I do say so myself 😉), then we can get started. If not - no hard feelings. We understand things don't always align. I am just happy we got to connect!

2023 at Unless Media ✨

This year, Unless Media officially turned 2 (or almost 3, if you count the baby steps), and let me tell you, it was a WHIRLWIND...of learning.

I spent the year trying new things, meeting new people, and working hard to make as many mistakes as possible (for learning purposes, of course 😉.) I discovered what industries I love working with, honed my service offerings, and learned from MANY mistakes.

Through it all, the support of my friends (new and old), family, clients, and other business owners has been my rock. The Hudson Valley community and the amazing marketing friends I’ve made on here, I can’t thank you enough for cheering me on (and offering a virtual shoulder to cry on when needed).

2024 just started, and I’m already brewing with so much excitement and inspiration. I can’t wait to share what’s in store!! Here’s to another year of growth, appreciation, and LEARNING at Unless Media!

Picture this 👀 you spend months developing your brand, pay for a beautiful website, and have tons of killer content created. Now it’s time to hop on social media and get posting. So you just start throwing up some photos and videos, right? You’ll get a bunch of likes, and your website gets tons of clicks. Easy.

Well, no, it’s really not that easy at all.

So many of my clients have come to me because they’re struggling to get results. They hopped onto social media with no strategy in place and just expected results, and well, they were very disappointed. And sure, maybe they had a Reel or two go viral, and they got a ton of likes and website clicks. But they had zero game plan after the traction from that Reel died down. They were confused about where the likes and reach all went, and now they are struggling to gain any engagement or even reach their actual target audience.

✨They needed a strong social media strategy.

Before using social media for your business, you need to know your goals, your audience, your competitors, your voice and message, and more. With a new year comes new opportunities. If you want to refresh your brand for 2024, read this ➡️

A brand refresh doesn't always mean a complete rebrand. You don't always need a full new branding kit or a completely new website. Sometimes, it's just a revamp of your social media, new branding photos, fresh content for your marketing efforts, or even just a new strategy to follow. (*especially a new strategy*)

When do you know it's time for a brand refresh?

👉🏻It's time to refresh your brand when it feels outdated, you're not connecting with your audience, you've made a big change, or you just have a gut feeling (which we see with 85% of our clients). A brand refresh is a great opportunity to bring new life to your brand, connect with new audiences, reignite your inspiration, and reach your goals.

Here are some bonus tips for a 2024-ready brand:

✨Embrace authenticity and transparency: Your consumers CRAVE genuine connections. So, share your brand's story, dive into your values, and even share your mistakes transparently. (mistakes make us relatable!!)
✨Revisit your roots: What sparked your brand's creation? What values fueled your early days? Reconnecting with your origin can reignite your passion for this refresh.

1. If you're posting every day and not seeing results... your content sucks. Sorry, not sorry 🤷🏼‍♀️

Quantity over quality is a marketing myth. Engaging, valuable content is what drives tangible results, not just a constant stream of random posts (unless you're just looking to gain random, useless followers, of course).

2. Engagement is a vanity metric and shouldn't be used to define success.

Likes, comments, and shares are great for boosting your ego, but they don't always translate into sales or conversions. True success lies in achieving your marketing goals, nurturing your audience (especially those lurkers), and not just racking up engagement numbers.

3. A successful marketing strategy includes experiments.

It's Women's Entrepreneurship Day... a day I feel as if I celebrate every day, but hey, let's celebrate a bit extra! When I was thinking about what I wanted to write here, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a "hey, happy random holiday everyone is posting about" and actually dedicate a post to all the women entrepreneurs, myself included. Whether we have worked together in the past or have plans to do so in the future, whether we're friends or never have met, whether you're a new entrepreneur or you've been in this space for many years, this day is for you. Keep kicking ass.

I also want to take this time to give a reminder and some insight. If you follow my business here and you think that I have it all figured out, HA, well, I don't. If you follow other women business owners who talk about having it all figured out (or how they made 20k in their first month of business and now they can teach you to do the same), odds are it's all smoke and mirrors, and they don't have it all figured out either.

Because who does?

We are all just working hard to fight our way up a hill to success (whatever it is, we deem success to be, of course.) Lately, I have seen so many business owners getting lost in the noise on social media, forgetting their goals and doing what some "Instagram guru" is telling them to do. You are not someone else. Your strategy, your efforts, YOU, cannot be the same as anyone else.

So, for today, I thought I'd share this with the female entrepreneurs who follow me: I want you to remember that as a business owner, YOU have control. Build your business how you want and stay authentic to yourself and your goals. Remember, the plans to reach that goal may change, but do not change that goal. You may need to reevaluate your strategy from time to time, but don't let yourself get lost in the noise.

On that note, I'm beyond proud every day to see fellow entrepreneurs killing it. I love you all.

How often should you be posting on Instagram? 🧐

Remember, this is not a 100% surefire plan that will work for everyone. Over the last six months, with changes to the algorithm and social media usage across industries, this is what we have found works best for our clients and what we believe will work for you to grow on social media, increase engagement, and work towards becoming an industry leader.

👉🏻As of June 2023, it has been stated that over 4.59 billion people were using social media worldwide (statista). We cannot even comprehend how many people that is, let alone how much content each of those individual people is seeing every single day.

With that many people consuming that much content every day AND with the known algorithm changes on social media, especially platforms like Instagram and TikTok, which make it almost impossible not to see hundreds of new content pieces from new creators every day, it's understandable that posting only a handful of times a month no longer will get you anywhere.

✨Take this advice and use it within your strategy. Test it out for a month or two and see how it works for your audience. Make adjustments and refine the strategy based on your results!
