Walking along the empty streets before the crowds gather to await Santa's arrival, seeing people setting up the entertainment and concession stands, (while the streets are still calm!!), my mind wanders back a few years when this was a much smaller event and we would all gather around the tree and sing Christmas Carols...
Does anybody else remember that?!

FESTIVAL OF TREES (30th!!)

to kick off the holiday season!
The entertainment was wonderful, the trees and decor was beautiful, and the amount of volunteers each year - wow! - and I love seeing all the ladies from Roohan Realty :)
I just love this event, such a wonderful tradition! I love attending and we love helping promote it through Saratoga Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

In 2007, Nick Fazioli and Jenny Clifton met on New Year's Eve, and as they say, the rest is history. Nick worked in New York City and the following year, Jenny joined him, visiting Saratoga Springs for the bustling scene at the racetrack and concerts. In the fall of 2020, they bought a house on Nelson Avenue to visit and then settled in at the house on 75 Clinton Street.

The house on Clinton Street has a rich history, built in 1847, with a historic build and stories of many past owners. As owners came and went, they would add their own touches to the house, making it the unique and beautiful house it is today. Nick and Jenny also graciously opened their home to the Saratoga Preservation Foundation's annual Historic Homes Tour!

When a homeowner's burst pipe flooded her Slinglerland kitchen, a disaster turned into an opportunity to redo the kitchen to something of her own. She began at Kitchen and Bath World's showroom, collaborating with Michael L'Hommedieu to create the kitchen of her dreams.

She decided to fully remove the wall between her kitchen and dining room, which expanded the heart of the home. With the help of Kitchen and Bath World, she created something unique and personal. It was more than a remodel-it was a reinvention.

At Phinney Design Group, they adapt to the historic build and architecture of spaces and add their own contemporary touch. A great example of their innovative work is Walt and Whitman in downtown Saratoga. The former Saratogian Newspaper building was reimagined by Phinney Design Group, preserving the original build and creating a space for a cafe by day and a brewery by night.

Phinney Design Group has also renovated the Amsure building in downtown Saratoga and is anticipating a build in Troy, NY, on 504 Broadway.

Bread is, arguably, one of the most important parts of a meal. John Reardon has had a longstanding love for bread, and one bread that has made a comeback is sourdough, which became a hobby for people during lockdown.

There are many items needed to make sourdough, including a Danish dough whisk, a bench knife, an instant-read thermometer, a bread proofing basket, and a lame. Reardon also shares his Easy Crusty French Bread recipe in this article!
