Homemade Lunch at Waldorf School, 62 York Avenue, Downtown Saratoga Springs-8 delicious soups, chilis, 5 kinds of cornbread, pizza from its outside oven, lots of homemade baked goods. Sent my neighbor and he came back happy he went and he brought me a homemade chocolate chip cookie. AND, faculty baked special cakes you can take a chance on. Tickets for all at front door. Enjoy!

When real drug stores tried to be everything sellable, they lost their way, became bohemith stores like the huge one in Downtown Saratoga Springs in the Price Chopper Center on Route 50 South that just closed. Now, go into one of the huge stores and one person employee in whole store except behind the prescription counter and paying preferred by machine rather than cashier. Just easier to get what you need from the Hannaford Supermarkets or Four Seasons.

Paid parking generating controversy in Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs business owners are expressing concern that the paid parking program is enriching the city, but it is making them poorer.

John Nemjo of Saratoga Outdoors said his business in June, July and August was down 8%, and he knows that a lot of other business were down by similar amounts.

My Amazing Privilege of Living in Downtown Saratoga Springs, NY for 34 years & counting: today FLAVORFEST on an absolutely perfect weather day with fabulous planning & great food with Henry Street closed off for a block & amazing artists painting on Broadway...if you missed it, calendar it in next year. Also stopped at our fabulously historic Military Museum on Lake Avenue & the Firehouse Open House also on Lake Avenue with more great food for free this time. And, did all of Broadway and discovered great new shops & restaurants new to me. AND get yourself a copy of SARATOGA LIVING'S FOOD & DRINK CURRENT ISSUE. What an educational job it did on Saratoga & related area restaurants with an informative article on Panza's history...its restaurant on Broadway has great food & fresh bread to die for!

High Mark Blue Cross & Blue Shield with 7 Plans in NY dropping 4 of the 7 as of 12/31/24, I just found out yesterday. Loved its coverage, moving to MVP for important coverages and some improvements. Still will miss High Mark's extra benefits like Zoom Coaching & Health & Fitness Coaching, ability to speak with nurses about health concerns, annual nurse visit, you get the idea.

: When typing on laptop, lots of letters turned to numbers or symbols. Fix: Click on to make your keyboard work again. This is my 2nd go round: 1st time computer still under warranty & techie had really hard time, almost gave up, then the last FIX she suggested worked. Thank God, I said & thank God I remembered!

My Saratogian Readers View: Time for Justice for NYS COVID Nursing Home Deaths From the desk of Senator James Tedisco. Guess you can Google this, because sites that say Share on Facebook lead you to a page where the commentary appears, BUT Facebook GIVES NO LINK TO ACTUALLY PUBLISH IT. This happens to me on all the sites where I am invited to share on Facebook & X. No problem with X, however. Don't understand why Facebook puts a box that you can't publish, so mostly I avoid trying.

Only in Downtown Saratoga Springs can you spend an afternoon meandering down Spring Street to listen to exciting musicians playing on the various porches with homeowners offering free hot dogs, popcorn, cold drinks & one group offering a huge selection of free top quality childrens' books. Later, after Mass, went to The Blue Door Fine Art Gallery on Broad Street in Schuylerville, NY & saw exciting art and met the artists & Michael Dudley even let me, as a fellow artist, wander around his huge art studio to see his works in process. Wow! Blue Door also had exciting food & wine with special pineapple upsidedown cake which I had for breakfast on Sunday! Saratogians, pay attention to our fabulous events, especially on weekends. They won't keep happening if you don't come.

Make-A-Wish moves to new office space
Make-A-Wish Northeast New York just relocated its headquarters to Saratoga Springs, and the nonprofit is excited about all it can offer from this new “wishing space.”

President and CEO Jamie Hathaway shared his excitement about this next chapter.
“I tell people a lot, we don’t have an office where we grant wishes, we have a wishing space where our office is, right?” he said.
