Phil Collins, one of the most successful artists in music history, recently concluded his illustrious career with an emotional final concert at London's O2 Arena. Joined by his Genesis bandmates, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, Collins quipped to the audience, "After tonight, we'll all have to get real jobs."

The concert marked the end of the band's 'The Last Domino?' Tour, which had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This tour followed a 14-year hiatus from live performances.

Collins' health has been a significant concern in recent years. In 2009, he underwent surgery to repair dislocated vertebrae in his upper neck, an injury sustained during Genesis's 2007 tour. The operation resulted in nerve damage, causing him to lose feeling in his fingers, and he has been using a cane since 2015. These health challenges have led to periods of depression and a diminished sense of self-worth. In September 2021, Collins revealed that he could barely hold a drumstick, leading his son, Nicholas Collins, to take over drumming duties for the tour.

Reflecting on his career, Collins acknowledged that this might be his final tour, stating, "I think it probably is putting it to bed... I don't know if I want to go out on the road anymore."

Collins began his career as a child actor, notably playing the Artful Dodger in the West End musical "Oliver!" He joined Genesis in 1970 as a drummer and became the lead singer in 1975 after Peter Gabriel's departure. In the 1980s, Collins launched a successful solo career, becoming one of the decade's most prominent pop artists. He made headlines by performing at both Live Aid concerts in 1985, flying from London to Philadelphia via Concorde to accomplish the feat.

Despite his health issues, Collins continued to perform, adapting his stage presence by sitting during shows. He admitted to not practicing singing at home, relying instead on rehearsals to prepare for performances. He noted that while his health has changed aspects of his performances, audiences have remained engaged and responsive.

As Collins steps away from the stage, he leaves behind a legacy of musical achievements and memorable performances that have touched fans worldwide.
