renown NM photographer and I finally got to work together after many years of admiring his work. A number of these landmark images were featured in a group show at the Albuquerque Museum last month and I was honored to print them for the show and collectors. As a photographer, mythological landscapes are part of Kirk’s aesthetic consciousness suggesting through light form and symbolic subject, an unfamiliar reality lurking behind the thin veneer of our perceived reality.

has been a client for the last few years and I have been involved in a number of his shows here in Santa Fe at the Peyton Wright gallery, creating large prints and portfolio text for box sets. Bill’s images are breathtaking and wonderful to work on. Since we started working together he and his wife, Anne, have created and published four books…his latest being: Blurred Boundaries, Perspectives of Rock Art of the Greater Southwest.

Renowned for his deep knowledge of antique American Indian and world tribal art, Brant Mackley’s interests extend beyond the confines of his gallery to include a hidden passion for vintage pre-war balloon tire bicycles and motorcycles. Despite being lesser-known, his collection surpasses 50 complete bicycles, each a testament to his dedication and discerning eye. Mackley’s Santa Fe residence, distinguished by its soaring cathedral ceilings and inviting lofts, serves as an ideal backdrop for showcasing his prized possessions. Eleven of these iconic bicycles take center stage in the primary living area, while others find their place on the porch and within a specially designated studio, each meticulously curated to highlight its unique historical significance and aesthetic charm.

Judy showcases her inventive use of glass, photography, mixed medium and textiles by experimenting with printing on unconventional surfaces. Her expansive creations are inspired by themes such as the history of the atomic bomb, the Trinity site, and the convergence of ancient and contemporary cultures. With a distinguished career, Tuwaletstiwa's work is the focus of a recent monograph published by Radius Books and a retrospective exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art, Santa Fe. The above images are plates from Judy’s upcoming book, Frog Dreaming.

Jeff always defines his photography as “problem solving.” On his latest print, Toston, Montana, he and I were ready for a challenge. So he began to search for a solution of how to create a look that was illustrative of the landscape instead of literal representation of it. Print size is 63” x 48” on Italian Rag paper. Jeff’s work can be seen in September at the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco.

Sara explores concepts of space and immateriality through various digital art forms, including video, digital painting, augmented and virtual reality. Her work visualizes memories, the unconscious, and other intangible subjects. Alongside her renowned virtual works, Sara also creates prints and sculptures, such as those in her Animistic series, which explores hybrid worlds.

A new client with a wonderful talent for ink on paper. She asked me to make the backgrounds drop out of these floral renderings, yielding images that have a Escher-like quality, but instead of
the mysterious stairways, they are replaced by flowers and plants. Hypnotic new work called The Playground Series.

I could write a book about Bob Stivers… meanwhile, along with various “sale” prints from his vast portfolios of images, we have been experimenting with large canvas mix medium, both photography with painting, to create amazing and powerful art. These canvas’ are 64 x 52 inches each. I hope to publish a book of his works this year.

Working with Meridel, a consummate artist, is always a pleasure and a challenge and this project was no different. Using both linen and silk she has created layers that give a sense of moving water against a static riverbank…the illusion is wonderful. Meridel will be featured in a group show in New Haven, Ct.

I have been working with Jamey for over fifteen years helping to contribute to three books, many shows and events. His last book by Stiedl Press, Atacama, is a magnificent aerial photo essay exploring the world’s largest copper mines in Chile, in contrast to the use of alternative energy. Printing these incredible images is aways a thrill.
