“Civil War”
I am sure that most are aware of a movie coming this Friday from director Alex Garland called “Civil War. I, of course, have not seen the movie, not being a real film critic and not being on the early review list. It is a near-future war film that is centered on a group of journalists traveling in an America torn apart by civil war.
The director has spoken many times about the movie and has made it clear that he worked hard to make it as apolitical as he could with the subject matter at hand. Yet, it is driving the rift in the political spectrum even wider. The public as a whole has not had a chance to see the movie and yet a lot of people, left and right, are convinced that it will somehow support their position. Some people also seem to think that it will incite violence, which it may, but that will not be the intent.
In my opinion, everyone who is reacting without seeing the film is on the road to disappointment. I feel that if we let it, the movie will start a conversation that can bring people together. At best it will teach us about how others think. At worst, people will miss the message and use it as an excuse to hate.
I am convinced of one thing and that is that a Civil War in America would be the worst thing that could happen. I hope that the story in this movie will show us that and I hope that people will keep an open mind.

The Full Story is coming. I got the Palmetto State Armory Armory Dagger on the range for the first shots and the quick take is that it went 350 rounds without a hiccup, is accurate enough for self-defense work and handles like a dream.

Thanks to Lone Star Gun Range. Its a great place to shoot and I look forward to my next trip.

At the recent Live Free USA Camp Independence I got to spend some time with Yana from Roving Blue, the inventor of this and other devices for purifying water from any source. I have been testing it for the last month or so and it gets a thumbs up from me.

Full disclosure, this Ozo-pen was provided to me by the company and the link below is an affiliates link. I am working on a full review now that will appear on the YouTube channel and you will see me purify water from a river source and drink in in real time. I also plan to add the larger capacity devices to my plans and review them in the future. I have really come to believe in this product.

If you are in a part of the country where Academy Outdoors does business, I advise against using them as a shipment FFL when ordering or purchasing fi****ms. The perpetrator in the 2018 Santa Fe, Texas school attack purchased his firearm at an Academy location and since then they do not adhere to the 3 day clause of the Brady Law.

Since the Biden administration seems to be using the NICS system as a way to make the lawful sale of fi****ms harder, this can lead to long waits for your purchase. There is nothing at Academy that can not be ordered or bought at another source, so I will not be shopping there in the future. Food for thought.

I discovered this young lady when she reviewed an MRE on her channel but she presents a lot of recipes on her channel. This one for Toasted Flour Soup struck me as a great one to have in a preparedness plan. It is a very low cost food item that can be the basis for any number of variations depending on what you have available. Her channel may have nothing to do with preparedness, but little treasures like this make it worth a look.
