Heute macht zwei Woche in Deutschland. Ich hatte nie gedacht, dass ich dort sein würde, wo ich jetzt bin. Dies ist nur der Anfang.

Ich bin in Horb am Neckar für fünf mehr Woche von ich beginne meine Unterrichten in Biberach an der Reis. Hier bin ich Deutsch lernen und reise über Deutschland. Ich habe viel zu lernen. Ich kann es kaum erwarten.

Mammoth Hot Springs.

This was my final stop before heading home to Washington this summer. I learned a lot about myself and the world in the process. I discovered how intimate traveling alone is, and how eager most strangers are to help. I learned what it means to truly experience a place and its culture. I discovered that meaning is not derived from what you do, but from who you're with, and who you are servicing. I discovered how beautiful our country is, but also how fragile that statement has become in the wake of global warming. I appreciate my communities, my travels, and this planet more than ever now. Here's to Sparky and summer 2k21.

This is not a pretty post, but it is a vital one. This is a call to action. Lake Mead is the life source for Southwest America, and we are letting it dry up. Major cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas would not, and cannot, exist without it. This summer Lake Mead reached a record low, and automatic water supply cuts have already been scheduled for 2022. We cannot let this crucial water supply continue to diminish, and we are not entirely powerless either. Learn more about Lake Mead, and find out what you can do, by following the link in my bio.

Trees you can’t hug.

At 52,508 cubic feet, General Sherman is the largest tree by volume on earth, and is still getting wider. You could lay 18 eager tourists down inside its 102 foot circumference. General Sherman is colossal but it’s not the only giant in this forrest. Sequoia trees are around every corner in the Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks.
