This is part of an email from a “Former 20 year dedicated veteran NYC teacher fire due to discrimination in the ‘land of the free’” This person was clearly very angry that I did not ask John Liu about his support of a policy requiring city workers get vaccinated. I appreciate the viewpoint and it made me think about the ways peope justify racist tirades. If you call to insult a politician for how they voted, is it fair game to call them the C word or N word or any other insult based on their race/gender/sexual orientation/disability? I definitely could have asked a question about his vote. Thoughts? “Perhaps the caller was a NYC worker who lost his job due to policies endorsed by John Liu. The racist comments were awful. Discrimination is always wrong ! But while John Liu posted the video of himself listening to the message on his Twitter page, trying to make this about race and getting people to feel sorry for him, the fact of the matter is that John Liu is the man who discriminates against people ! In that interview he clearly does not care about thousands of dedicated, hard working NYC teachers who were fired, not because they did anything wrong, but because they did not want to be a guinea pig in the government's experiment. I know this because I am one of those teachers. For 20 years, I devoted my life to the education of NY City students. My life and the lives of thousands of NYC teachers were destroyed because of politicians like John Liu and their DISCRIMINATORY policies towards the unvaccinated. And even when the fact that the vaccines do not work, as evidenced by the fact that vaccinated people can still get Covid and spread the virus to others (see Dr Fauci, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Eric Adams, etc...) the arrogant Mr. Liu says "it's nonsense", completely ignoring what we know to be facts, not opinion, and dismisses the interviewer in a very rude manner. He seems to be giddy about the fact that thousands of NYC teachers have lost their job

So, the #metaverse. How and why people are spending *real money on goods that are only available *virtually. One thing I learned from this story- metaverse fans are really nice. Great job by @merritt_enright and @jsenoch who always hold my hand in these lands to make sure I don’t cause a meta meltdown.

Could be one of the most important life-saving stories I’ve done to date. Researchers at Stanford University have found a new way to use TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) therapy to treat depression and suicidal thoughts. They say results have been nearly instantaneous through a procedure that’s non-invasive and safe. Highly concentrated treatment sessions using magnets to re-program the brain. It’s called SAINT at Stanford but other clinical trials are accepting patients across the country. dr. One of the most rewarding stories of 2022 for us. Meet the Vietnamese refugees now paying it forward. They were the recipients of American generosity and kindness 40 years ago after the fall of Saigon. When they saw the US withdrawal in August, Uyen Nguyen, Thanh Tan, Tam Nguyen and Ally Nguyen (no relation to me or each other 😂) all knew they had to do something. So they formed @viets4afghans and got to work. This is their story. We hope to visit with them through the years to see how these Afghan families begin new lives here in the U.S. with the help of American communities nationwide. This holiday as many of us gather to celebrate traditions with our families, some 25 thousand Afghan refugees are being housed at U.S. military bases and learning how to start from scratch in a foreign country. As a refugee myself, who benefitted mightily from the help of Don and Wannell Ware, and their church and the loving community of Eugene, Oregon, I was so grateful to share this story of @viets4afghans. The newly formed volunteer group just said “Let’s go. We have to do something” and they’re already changing the lives of Afghan families by sponsoring them, helping them find housing and schools and jobs. You can feel the connections already forming. Please give this story a watch. One of my favorites of 2021. Refugees helping the next generation and showing us all what it really means to be an American. This is the most generous, free, fiercely independent country on the face of this earth. We forge diamonds here and we sacrifice for each other and we share and we get ahead together. Not a perfect Union but the best out there.
