This law was passed in California but because many baby food manufacturers sell all over the country, the information will likely be available nationwide for those brands.
This new law requires baby food manufacturers to test their products monthly for heavy metals and disclose the results.
This is considered to be a major shift towards more transparency.
The linemen were out restoring power to Kansans who were impacted by a winter storm when they noticed the pair up on the pole frozen stuck. They jumped into action to save them, the whole rescue taking about two hours. One linemen said it took longer to avert the power so they didn’t “fry and everyone lose electricity,” than the actual rescue took. Both mom and baby were lowered safely and ran off in the same direction.

This will be the 3rd largest national marine sanctuary in the U.S, with more than 4,500 square miles of ocean getting protection off the coast of central California. The sanctuary is also the first to be led by Indigenous people. The new sanctuary called, Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary, will be managed in partnership with tribes and Indigenous groups in the area, who will advise the federal government. Members of the Northern Chumash Tribe have worked on this for over a decade to protect their historical homeland.
The new sanctuary will be protected from oil and gas drilling and undersea mining, while fishing is still permitted. It also means more public outreach and monitoring for environmental impacts.

Nearly 1000 vulnerable and endangered lemurs and tortoises have been successfully returned from Thailand to Madagascar. The animals were being trafficked through Thailand and were likely to be sold into the international illegal pet trade. The Prince of Wales commented on the effort marking it as an “unprecedented feat for the fight against illegal wildlife trade”. All animals would be assessed and rehabilitated before being released back into the appropriate areas.

Scientists at the Riken research institute in Japan worked to develop a plastic that would still be strong but would also be able to fully break down in environments such as soil and sea water, without leaving behind any microplastics.
Tests showed that the new plastic would start to break down within hours once placed in salt water.
Also, when put into soil, the sheets of the new plastic degraded in 10 days and supplied a chemical similar to fertilizer, which is known to help keep soil healthy.
Takuzo Aida, who led the study, said: “With this new material, we have created a new family of plastics that are strong, stable, recyclable, can serve multiple functions, and importantly, do not generate microplastics.”
