“Fast internet, fast cars, fast food, most if not everything right now, can be completed at a quicker speed than we know it, especially in contrast to the past. This means an onslaught of misinformation gets thrown around and is often misinterpreted because people are not as informed as they should be. An example of this would be how easily anyone can fabricate a Wikipedia page filled with researched materials. This is how easily misinformation can travel through the several channels of communication we have created over time. “

“ From 1999 to 2001, we saw three of the most revered retro fighting games come out one year at a time. They were all entirely by video game company Capcom: Street Fighter III Third Strike, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, and Capcom VS. SNK 2. These games came out first on the Dreamcast after leaving the arcades but would later land on other platforms such as the PlayStation 2, Gamecube, and Original Xbox.“

“ Throughout history, mankind’s coexistence with nature has been a constant. Spending time in nature in this increasingly urbanized world has been proven to improve mental health by alleviating stress, something many college-aged students are often too familiar with. With the difficulty of classes increasing as finals approach, the Honors Enrichment Program and the Active Minds club have decided to host a nature walk at the Santa Rosa Plateau on November 16th to help ease the minds of burnt-out students.“

“VVeteran’s Day is celebrated to honor the patriotism, sacrifice, and service of America’s Veterans. It’s a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration. Ceremonies include placing floral tributes on the graves of service members and at memorials, as well as naturalization ceremonies. People gather to honor and remember the sacrifices of veterans in the United States Armed Forces. Communities nationwide host parades, ceremonies, speeches, wreath-laying events, concerts, and military displays. Schools may also hold programs with veterans as guest speakers. Many national parks have connections to the military and can be a place to honor veterans. A simple “thank you” or personalized note or card can also be a thoughtful way of showing appreciation.”

Stations are available for anyone with a creative concept. Some students have used the Animaker Space (located at the San Jacinto Campus) to create products for their small businesses. Dr. Hal is the MakerSpace Specialist who runs the place and is happy to help students with their projects from start to finish. Here is a rundown of the most popular stations in the MVC MakerSpace.”
