From my Feb. trip to Sudan. Tumbas, a region along the Nile, 3 hrs. north of Khartoum. A fascinating area! The ancient Nubians (25th dynasty, 600 B.C.) carved the equivalent of road signs notifying travelers of tolls and fees assessed for passing through their territory. It was a magical walk through time around dusk. <3 Sudan.

This is Lemondrop in his/her enclosure inside the glft shop at the California Academy of Sciences Natural History Museum in Golden Gate park. I passed by and thought he/she was dead/taxidermy-ed. Look carefully.
