As I sat on the beach, the sun began its slow descent, casting a golden hue across the sky. The stresses of the day, the deadlines, and the constant barrage of emails seemed to melt away with each passing moment. Watching the sunset, I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me. The colors, blending seamlessly from vibrant oranges to soft purples, reminded me of the beauty in transitions and the importance of pausing to appreciate them.

The rhythmic sound of the waves, combined with the visual symphony of the setting sun, created a meditative atmosphere. It was in this quiet space that I found clarity. This signpost, installed in June 2018, was a collaborative project involving multiple city departments. Grief is a very individual experience, even as it is a universal reality. At some point in our lives, we will all lose something or someone that we hold dear to us, and it will make a significant impact on who we are and how we understand the world. But the thing to know about grief is that, while painful, it can ultimately lead to a deeper appreciation for life and living. In the end, this can only strengthen our resolve to lead meaningful, full lives.
