GoodBed originated out of a fatefully frustrated mattress shopping experience for our founder. Setting out to find their first “real” mattress, he and his wife were met with a sea of white rectangles that varied in price by thousands of dollars, yet were hard to differentiate and even harder to compare. So, our team set out to create a robust and unbiased information platform that could help people find the best mattress for their own unique needs, and buy it from a good store at a fair price. Thank you to @AmericanMattress and @LifeOnPurple for their generosity helping this well-deserving GoodBed reader in need! As you can see from her video, Necia is very grateful, as are we!! Background… Necia was using GoodBed to research mattress and base options and sent us a message asking for our advice. When we spoke with her, we learned that in addition to some other health conditions, she had just been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer of the bone marrow. She thought a new mattress and adjustable base might help, but she’s 84 and on a low fixed income, so she didn’t think she could afford it. Her situation touched us, so we reached out to Purple, who immediately offered to provide Necia with a new mattress and adjustable base. Purple then reached out to their partner, American Mattress, who immediately offered to deliver everything and get Necia all set up — which they did this past weekend. Necia is now sleeping on—and loving—her new mattress and adjustable base, gaining extra energy for any and all health battles that lie ahead. So, thank you American Mattress and Purple for your empathy and generosity, and Necia for your wonderful, infectious positive attitude!
