🍻 Mrs. Hoppinessisbeer and I finally made it back to our favorite brewery, Barebottle, since the transplant—and it felt like coming home. 🏡 The cozy vibes, familiar faces, and incredible beers made for a perfect day.

First, a huge thank you to Lester, Connor, Phil, and the entire Barebottle crew—you’re always so gracious and make this place feel so special. 💛

We enjoyed an amazing lineup, from Pilsners to West Coast IPAs, Hazy IPAs, and more. But the standout for us was Campione, an Italian Pilsner that truly lives up to its name! 🏆 It’s a crisp, zippy beer with noble hop character and malty notes that had us saying, “This is definitely a campione!”

Cheers to great beer, amazing people, and being back at Barebottle! 🍺 Thank you for making this visit so memorable.

Today, I’m reflecting on all the incredible people in my life—family, friends, and of course, my amazing beer friends. 🍺 You all make life so much sweeter, and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you. 💛

This Thanksgiving also marks a special milestone: 6 months since the kidney transplant that gave my wifey a fresh start. 🙌 Words can’t express how grateful I am that things are going smoothly. Julie, I love you endlessly—you’re my everything. ❤️

This hazy floral IPA is a straight-up flavor bomb 💣—think citrus and sweet fruit vibes, balanced out with a whisper of woodiness and pine. 🌸🍊🌲 Oh, and the double dry hop? Smooth, creamy, and oh-so-satisfying.

Just took my wife to Reve in Lafayette for her birthday, and wow, what a night! This charming French restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We were blown away by the food and can’t wait to go back.

It was our first time diving into French cuisine. The meal started with an amuse-bouche, a chilled tomato, watermelon, and strawberry gazpacho. Talk about a refreshing start!

Next up, Gougeres. These bite-sized French cheese puffs were light, airy, and packed with cheesy goodness. Then came the escargot. The herb garlic butter made them quite tasty, but Julie was done after one bite. Turns out she had pet snails as a kid!

For the main course, Julie had Noix St Jacques, seared day boat scallops over Brentwood corn and summer mushroom risotto. While the scallops could have used a bit more searing, the flavors were spot on.

I went for the Moules Frites. Steamed PEI mussels in a white wine, shallots, garlic, and cream broth served with fries. The flavors were incredible, and the fries had the perfect crunch.

And of course, we ended the night with Julie’s favorite dessert: Crème Brûlée. One word: AMAZING!

**Kidney Transplant Update**

It’s been three weeks since the kidney transplant, and we’re doing great! Every day brings progress in my 6-week recovery. Julie is still experiencing some pain and discomfort, but her spirits are high, and the kidney is functioning exceptionally well. Her recovery is set for 12 weeks. We truly appreciate all the love, prayers, and messages we’ve received. To those who donated, we can’t thank you enough for your generous and kind hearts. Your support during our time of need means the world to us. We love each and every one of you! Here’s to a long, healthy life for both of us.

May was a month of celebrations. Julie’s liver transplant’s 15th anniversary was on the 15th. Duke turned 8 on the 16th. We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on the 29th, the same day as the kidney transplant. So much love in the month of May! 🙏🏼💕

🍻 Calling all beer lovers! 🍻

Let me introduce you to the mastermind behind some seriously killer brews: Simon, the beer wizard of Roseville! His garage brewery setup is straight-up goals, and let me tell you, the beer that comes out of there is nothing short of magical!

Simon’s got this uncanny knack for sniffing out the perfect blend of hops and barley, and it really shines through in every sip. I’m talking about beers so good, they’ll make you wanna do a happy dance!

I’m rooting for Simon to make his dream of opening up a full-blown brewery a reality, because trust me, the world needs more of his brews! And speaking of disappearing acts, let’s talk about these stouts I recently got my hands on. First up, we’ve got the 8:15 Coffee Stout, infused with Speculoos cookies, coffee, and a touch of vanilla. Then, there’s the Biscoffee Stout, a masterpiece of a brew infused with Biscoff cookies, coffee, and vanilla. Let me tell you, folks, this one’s a game-changer! The way those cookie flavors mingle with the rich coffee notes is nothing short of mind-blowing. I even paired it with some actual Biscoff cookies, and let me just say, it was a match made in heaven!
