evolution of a logo. from a hand-drawn idea, to a rough vector, to a few final designs before we added that circle and flipped the negative - the moment we knew we had something.

now, if you haven’t see that good old typeSOMETHING logo lately, it’s not because we’ve gone away. like almost everyone else we’ve taken a bit of a break while issues such as family, health, and safety all take their rightful priority.

but we’re planning to hit the ground running just as soon as we can with the rest of you. in the meantime we’ll keep you updated right here with any news and maybe even a few surprises.

shout out to all the STAGE supporters here at servicenow before I hand out some well-deserved swag here at the office.

I had been at this new job just over six months or so when I started the kickstarter for STAGE and yet these amazing folks swarmed on it and they did so with some unparalleled generosity. together they funded almost a quarter of the goal!

it’s been suggested to me lately that I need to pick one avenue or the other - filmmaking or IT - if I’m ever going to be truly successful. but my friends here showed me what a fallacy that is. because life isn’t just a black/white, yes/no proposition. it’s something so much more colorful and exciting than that. it’s a continuum. we can be more than one thing at one time.

and this can be more than just my day job. it can be my new tribe.

a weekend well-spent signing, folding, sticking, labeling, sealing, and shipping all our physical swag out to our STAGE kickstarter backer fam! and we mightve had a conversation or two about preproduction on the new series. this is the best kind of exhausted.

STAGE UPDATE: For a variety of reasons, the production team led by series creator Dave Gutierrez has decided to reboot the first season of STAGE, complete with a new episode one. The implications of this decision are many: it allows us to package our first two episodes as an impressive "proof of concept" that has gotten us to where we are today and continues to open doors. But it also enables us to apply the lessons learned from our those episodes and start fresh instead of trying to fix forward. Lastly, it frees us from some scheduling difficulties related to cast and locations. In short, a reboot solves more problems than it creates.

With that said, this change does mean that we will be starting anew with some fresh faces in front of and behind the camera. We will be recasting the project as well as bringing on new talent on the production side. We are indebted to every single person that played a part in bringing our first two episodes to life, as well as enormously proud of the work we accomplished and how far we've come as a result.

Change is never easy. The reality though is that in order for us to take this project and company where we believe it can go, a reboot is required. Rest assured that the heart and vision of the project remain intact. This reboot allows us to bring you a new version of STAGE, at an even higher production value, and to do all of this on a much faster schedule than we've maintained for the original two episodes.

So get ready. The all-new five episode first season of STAGE is coming your way soon!
