So how awesome is it that our very own OneAway Studios co-owner, Melissa, was selected to be the event MC & DJ for the 3rd Annual Rico’s Retro Roll at The Rollercade in San Antonio, TX last weekend! 🎉
Rico’s Retro Roll is an event that was created to benefit Breakthrough T1D also knows as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF.
There was face painting, caricature drawings, and a chance to get a photo op with San Antonio’s mascot legends including San Antonio Missions Baseball Club's Ballapeno The Jalapeno, Henry the Puffy Taco, Rowdy UTSA, San Antonio Spurs's Coyote, and none other than Rico’s Products very own beloved Rico! 🤩
Rico was also promoting his #VoteForRico campaign! 😎🧀🏆
Everyone also had a chance to show of their skating skills on the roller rink while Melissa played the throwback jams to set the vibe right for the retro day! 🛼💃🕺🪩
There was also prize give-aways for some very lucky winners, which was led by some of San Antonio’s amazing influencers!

Educational First Steps | 2024 | Striving For Greatness, with Allyson Felix
Did you know that the first five years of life are crucial to a child's development? A child's brain develops more rapidly in these years than at any other time in life.
Since 1990, Educational First Steps (EFS) has aimed to help transform low-performing childcare centers in communities with the greatest need across North Texas into nationally accredited, high-quality early learning environments for children from birth to age five.
EFS held their annual gala for 2024 in February with the theme, “Striving for Greatness,” at the Ritz-Carlton, in Dallas. The event also offered an on-stage conversation with the most decorated track and field Olympian, Allyson Felix.
With Vickie Allen-Brown leading EFS as the President & CEO, the annual gala benefitted the organization's mission of creating and supporting high-quality early learning environments that ignite children's minds.
OneAway Studios has been a proud collaborator with EFS, providing our media services over the last two years. For this year's gala, we collaborated with EFS to offer two activations for the event guests, which included our Classic Photo Booth and Roaming booth, along with videography services to capture the whole experience.

Mayfest featured highly entertaining DJ and live music, arts and crafts vendors, delicious food, and engaging activities for all ages! There was even a rock wall climbing activation as well as a baby kangaroo cuddling booth! Yes, we said baby kangaroo cuddling booth. 🥰
