Self reflection:

Being an Empathetic person means you radiate from a place of compassion, love and healing. This is a gift that can bring much healing to the world when it's done correctly. Your ability to feel others energy is a gift that comes from an open heart.

It is also easier for empaths to feel unappreciated or used.

Like any ability in life. It is important to be self aware as an empath of those energy we take on. We must learn to navigate the ability to set boundaries with those that seek our compassion, time and or resources.

Always set limitations to how much time, energy, and personal resources we render.

I used to be a professional Empath looking for every situation around me to give my energy in a form of support.

My positive radiation attracted people that needed the attention of my caring nature.

Like a sort of sponge, I became attached to people's fears, suffering and worries thinking that my way of feeling along with taking on their human suffering was the best way to show them I care.

This often left me feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled with less energy. My good nature and warm heart felt like it was constantly being misused.

I will shared what I have been working toward.
How I am learning to Embrace my supper gift "Empathy" without the feeling that I am responsible for carrying about the world's and people's problems on my shoulders.

What I am learning. What I came up with.
When you see someone experiencing emotional issues. Or they reach out to you knowing you are the compassionate friend.

My approach: I am Still putting this into action.

First, acknowledge the issue at hand. Show empathy. In your own way.

Asked them these 3 questions.

1. In this situation, are you needing HELP,

2. SUPPORT, or THIRD PARTY INPUT?

This set the time for both parties to figure out where the needs to go next to get the most positive outcome.

3. Is this something you could benefit from having a third party professional like a therapist or counselor to better assist us get to a resolution?

There's a difference between Help and support

Help is temporary while
Support is longer-term.

Help= immediate assistance or aid.

Support = Advocating, sustain a support long-term commitment to someones growth
(Merriem Webster 2004)

If they have an idea of what they want with some sort of goal orientation at the end. This means possibly they just need some short term assistance.

Support on the other hand reqires much time on their part. There's not much of a timeline base on the actual situation. They might need your support until they feel confident or some relief from the root cause of the problem.

Based on their answers you both can figure out where they would get the better outcome.

As a true friend, you can check in on them as a way of maintaining support through their process of coming to self understanding of their issues.

Empaths are a trussure to this world that also needs to figure out the best ways to empower others, pore positive outcome toward those that needs. Empaths need to have a way to give themselves the space and time to explore their creative side, explore ideas and healed themselves.

How are you navigating Empathy toward yourself?
Remember, you are the most important person that needs self compassion first.

Remember to fill your cup 🍵 first before pouring into others.

I am learning that saying no to things that otherwise take me away from focusing on my personal purpose is a gift.

Setting boundaries is an act of prioritizing self-care. This only leads to enriching relationships with those influences we value long term.

So, today, I want to encourage you to take an overview of your present village, things, and people that influence much of your life. Be truthful more aware of when to say "No" to things that might take away from what you deem important.
