I feel like I need to say something and yet what can I say? I am unsettled, disheartened, and disappointed. Yet I refuse to despair. I have always been motivated to seek understanding over knowledge. I can intellectually discuss the evidence/effects of structural inequality and still feel helpless when slapped in the face with it. Yet I refuse to despair. I feel heartbroken for the countless untold stories: the invisibles we don't hear from or about, and all those who are actively hated. Yet I refuse to despair. I feel guilt, and shame, for the lack of change in society, and for my own complicity/privilege. I am in a bubble of my own making, far from the voiceless child of my youth. I have surrounded myself with like-minded people and this week's events have been a harrowing reminder that we have so far to go. Yet I refuse to despair. And so I continue to risk, continue to make myself vulnerable, to grow, to create in the face of destruction, and to not forget. To remember that we are all connected, perpetrators and victims alike. Even as we take a stand for what we believe in, fight injustice, and vote for those who will do that with us, we must also remember that connection. What helps me remember that best is telling my story, listening to the stories of others, and sharing the beauty I see.

Episode 4 with Pilar Pobil is up! It is such an honor to have Pilar Pobil as our guest. At 93-yars-old Pilar has been recognition as one of Utah’s most influential artists as well as being knighted by the king of Spain. We are especially honored to call her a friend. We hope you enjoy her story.
We are also giving away one of Pilar’s art prints to one of our listeners who creates something with the prompt that Pilar leaves at the end of the episode. Be sure to create and hashtag for a chance to win. Winner will be chosen June 1, 2020.

Episode 3 is up! Our guest is Steven Fehr. He is an actor who has appeared in many plays and musicals including Annie with Sally Struthers of "All in the Family" fame. Some others include Of Mice and Men, Man of La Mancha, and Sunset Boulevard at Pioneer Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah; Tony & Tina’s Wedding at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas; and Saturday’s Vo**ur at Salt Lake Acting Company, to name a few. He’s performed at Pioneer Theater, SLAC, theatre companies in California and the Nevada Conservatory Company. He’s been acting since 3rd grade and always knew this is what he wanted to do for a career. With great support from his parents along the way, he earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University and later a Master’s from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in theatre performance. He’s taught acting at UNLV, Snow College, and the College of Southern Nevada. He’s been in musicals, comedies, and dramas ranging from Shakespeare and classical pieces to modern works.
