We had our Sky’s the limit camp on Saturday at PickUp USA Fitness Woods Cross. We had some ballers show up and everyone left with full belly thanks to Nicholas and Company Inc. Foodservice and The Locker Room We have so many other great partners who we couldn’t have done it without. We are humbled by all of the support. Comcast, Utah Creative Chamber, Utah Refugee Services and individual donors who asked to remain nameless. We are eternally grateful for all the support and I know the kids are too. Our Sky’s The Limit Refugee Basketball Camp is coming up Saturday March 16th at PickUp USA Fitness Woods Cross with the help of some really great partners. Comcast, Nicholas and Company Inc. Foodservice, Utah Refugee Services, Utah Creative Chamber and more.

This FREE basketball camp was designed to bridge the gap between not only the many cultures in the refugee community, but also our kids from here in the United States. All kids ages 7-17 are welcome.

On July 23rd, 2022, A group of black owned business and organizations in Salt Lake City, Utah came together to honor the Makers of the the film, “His Name is Green Flake.” With a special reception and screening. This is the video from that event.

The day before on the 22nd of July, a historic monument was unveiled and dedicated of 4 enslaved pioneers. These black men and women were tasked with blazing the trail from Missouri and into Salt Lake City, Utah prior to the Mormons arriving in 1847.

In addition, On Friday July 22nd, at 10am there will be a dedication and concert to celebrate “The First Pioneers of 1847” monument at “This is the Place” Heritage park. This historic bronze statue was made to celebrate the four enslaved Pioneers that blazed the trail into the Salt Lake Valley prior to Brigham Young and the other Mormons arriving.

We had the opportunity to screen this film at Cryptopia back in January. There’s only one word that comes to mind when I think about this film. “IMPRESSIVE”!!! The story, the production, the acting… Everything about this film is impressive.

Rockwell Time and Observable Universe Partner to Support the Independents

In it’s second year of existence, Observable Universe Inc., the next generation streaming marketplace for independent filmmakers and creatives worldwide, has partnered up with Rockwell Time to support independent creatives in Utah and abroad.

The multifaceted partnership was finalized Wednesday and they’re planning some exciting opportunities for independent artists to grow their fan base and monetize their art by merging the powerful tools Observable Universe offers and the high quality watches and merchandise that Rockwell Time offers.

When asked about the details of the partnership, Observable Universe Founder and CEO Adam Smith said, “This is opportunity for a young growing company to partner with a Utah powerhouse in Rockwell Time. It’s an honor to work with these guys to not only support up and coming artist’s, but it gives our company a great brand to learn from by following the blueprint they’ve laid out in front of us. We only hope to become as admired and respected as Rockwell in Utah and around the globe.”

Observable Universe, founded in November 2020, has been busy navigating the startup scene. In January 2021, They placed 3rd out of 30 at the Gentlemen’s factory Bootcamp in Brooklyn, NY, a worldwide technology incubator for men of color. In April 2021, they were selected as a featured startup at Collision “The Tech Olympics” in Toronto Canada. In June 2021, they received a mentorship with an executive at the Walt Disney Company and they’ve been hitting milestones and building their brand ever since.

Founded in 2007, Rockwell Time has quickly become a Utah staple and has been a major part of the nonprofit and global sports communities by sponsoring and supporting many action sports athletes and athletes in generals giveback initiatives and much more.

There were some aspects of this partnership that were kept tight lipped, but they assured us that this part of the partnership will change the way things are done and the general public should be very excited about it. They plan to make announcements on this top secret product later this month, so make sure to follow both companies social media pages, because you won’t want to miss it.
