As an experienced coach and mentor, I have dedicated over 35 years to guiding and supporting young men and women on their path to success. Nothing brings me greater joy than witnessing the transformation and accomplishments of the youth I work with. I founded Coach T's Corner with a clear purpose in mind—to complement the invaluable work of the nonprofit organization JLT Fieldhouse, which focuses

on coaching and mentoring the leaders of tomorrow. Recognizing the gap in the school curriculum, I understood that today's preteens and teens require essential skills that aren't being adequately addressed. Education, support, and inspiration are consistently needed to ensure the success of our youth now and in the future. As the author of "The S.E.A. Of Success: The Ultimate Guide to Success for Preteens and Teens," I aim to provide a comprehensive resource that equips young individuals with the tools they need to thrive. In addition to my writing endeavors, I also host the podcast "Developing Tomorrow's Leader" and co-host "TeenSpeak: Empowering Today's Youth." These platforms provide a space for preteens, teens, and college students to share their challenges and the strategies they've employed to overcome them. My primary focus is assisting parents in educating, supporting, and inspiring the personal growth skills of their preteens and teens. My ultimate goal is to equip young individuals with the necessary tools to take ownership of their lives and pave the way for a prosperous future. 🌟 A Moment to Shine: EK’s Journey to Confidence

As a coach, I’ve always believed that sports are a platform for something far greater than wins and losses. This story is proof.

EK came to me as a young player searching for affirmation. Despite his talent, his confidence often wavered. After facing challenges, missing the varsity team, and fighting his way through doubt, EK stepped into his own greatness.

This season, he found himself starting in the championship game—a moment he owned. EK’s hustle plays, focus, and back-to-back 3-pointers were the keys to victory. But his biggest win? Finally believing in himself.

When he told me, “You’ve been the only coach that believed in me,” I reminded him: “No, YOU finally believed in yourself.”

Trust and Growth: A Lesson for Our Youth

🌟I came across a powerful quote the other day today: “Don’t be sorry. I trusted you. My mistake, not yours.” This resonates deeply with me, especially when working with our incredible preteens and teens.

Trust is a cornerstone of any relationship, and it’s essential for personal growth. When we place our trust in others, it’s a testament to our belief in their potential. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that can lead to disappointment.

But remember, it’s not about placing blame; it’s about understanding and learning from the experience.Here’s what I want you to take away:

💖 Ownership of Feelings: It’s okay to feel hurt or let down, but let’s focus on how we can grow from these feelings. Instead of saying “I’m sorry,” let’s reflect on what we can learn.

🌱 Building Resilience: Every setback is an opportunity to strengthen our resilience. Trusting someone is a brave act, and even if it doesn’t work out, it teaches us valuable lessons about ourselves and others.

🤝 Empowerment through Trust: As you navigate friendships and relationships, remember that trust is a two-way street. Be the person others can count on, and in turn, surround yourself with those who uplift you.

Let’s embrace these moments as stepping stones on our journey of personal growth for the next generation of leaders!
