Our Story

We started our journey as a monthly newspaper titled NW Senior News more than 35 years ago in Eugene, Oregon, and have expanded to cover the entire Willamette Valley, parts of the Oregon Coast and Clark County, Washington. Over the years, we have changed our name to Northwest Senior and Boomer News, then Northwest Boomer and Senior News. In 2019, we changed our format to a full-color glossy magazine, and our name to Northwest50Plus, still providing the same great content and purpose in supporting the older adult population.

We are supported by our advertisers so we can keep this publication free to our readers. Please support our advertisers with your dollars and share this publication with your friends and family. We want to provide content that is interesting, educational and informative, as well as relevant to a local audience. You’ll rarely find canned content or stories that don’t apply to readers specifically in the Northwest. We connect with local businesses who can provide our readers with great products and services.

We are proudly owned by Eagle Newspapers, Inc., headquarted in Salem, Oregon, and which owns more than a dozen properties in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. We are printed at Eagle Web Press, and designed by Eagle Media Lab. We are committed to the idea of “shop local,” supporting both large and small businesses in our communities.
