Tips for Creating a Warm & Cozy Home (by: )
A New Year generally means a New You, but it also means it's time to usher in a new environment to help you endure our cold weather until Spring. While usually we celebrate snow and ice, sometimes curling up inside with a warm fire and great book sounds really appealing as well. In order to make your space feel new, you don’t have to make big changes to shake things up – small things can make a big impact. As you pack away your holiday décor (don’t do it too quickly though… I hold out until the last moment to put it away!), think about changing these things:
New Throw Pillow Covers
Cozy New Throw
New Candle
New Plant – This can be real or faux.
A stylish vessel, pitcher or bowl on your kitchen countertop
New kitchen towels
A fresh piece of art
This quick pull of items to reflect the list showcases the Pantone Color of the Year - Mocha Mousse. As you can see, there is a wonderful way to weave in this cocoa color tone into your interior, welcoming its coziness and warmth into your home. If you want to combine it with a soft winter white, sage green and light blue grey, it helps “express a level of thoughtful indulgence.” Per the Pantone Color Institute, the warm brown palette appeals “to our desire for comfort” and is meant to represent a “growing movement to align ourselves more closely with the natural world.”
I would be happy to put away the Hunter Green and bold reds of the holidays to allow my home to showcase a luxurious palette such as this. Would you?
