Little you, TEEN you. They deserved the self-love we’re discovering now. Back when I was growing up (I’m a millennial) “self love” wasn’t a term. I knew I felt empty trying to prove I was pretty or skinny enough, smart, a star athlete. 🥺 It wasn’t an option for me to be “bad” at anything… Maybe you were “bad at things” like not being athletic when your family’s FULL of athletes?
Or you were into ART instead of trades?
Being DIFFERENT as kids wasn’t always supported.
What YOU wanted probably didn’t matter.
Voila: a generation of people pleasers
I wish we could see little us again & give them the love & support we needed. 🩷 for now, THEY lives inside of US. It’s time to love them how we can.
So… Every time you shame yourself out of self-care…
or feel like it’s selfish, do you realize you’re talking to LITTLE YOU? 🫶🏼
You DO deserve it.
You ARE beautiful RIGHT NOW.
You work HARD, babe.
Slowing down doesn’t mean you’re “lazy”.
Rest is power.
Taking PTO is necessary, you ALREADY EARNED IT might I add!
You don’t need to be a machine.
Your best can actually be dialed down a notch, give your BEST to YOU first, and watch how your ease with giving flows into others once YOU’RE full. 🩷
