I wonder WHY when I asked Rockin PD’s chief & a captain last night, three hours after it happened, if this was an attempted kidnapping, they both said police were still investigating.
And the captain said NO this was NOT an attp. abduction. The chief said it wasn’t worth me responding to the scene, or even reporting on it. I trusted him. I trusted police.
As it turns out, it was, in fact, a serious attempted kidnapping.
Thank God the female suspect was arrested.
But viewers had the right to know the truth last night. And so did the media, who have the responsibility of sharing with the public.

Twenty-two years ago today, hired me. I’ve met so many wonderful people along the way, some from reporting very difficult stories, but many whom I now call my friends. And I’m so grateful for the trust people have given me, to tell their stories. I’m very thankful for my loving & supportive family, who’ve stood by me all the way. Whether it was during the pandemic and having to hop on Zoom, to stepping off the dais during council meetings, to give me sound in the lobby, you have always come through. 🫶🏼 You also have the best texting etiquette than any public figure I’ve worked alongside, answering back immediately, even before your aides.

: We’re seeing for the first time, 76-year-old Kathleen Garrett-Yopp. Her family has filed a civil complaint - the first step in a lawsuit - against the chaplain who allegedly sexually assaulted her while in hospice on her deathbed, the co. which hired him and the care facility where she spent the last years of her life.

UPDATE: Akemi was reunited with her owner JR, this afternoon, after finding her in a garage along Road 98 in Woodland. Over the weekend, Fox 40 reported that following a car accident on Sept. 26th, the 3-yr-old pit ran out of the car. JR broke his feemer, but has been searching for her since he got out of the hospital. Finally, a happy reunion.
