I haven’t read the impeachment articles but I’ve watched some of the trial.
I do wonder if abuse of power is too general or subjective for the public?
Also, would obstruction of Congress resonate with the public since there are pending court cases about subpoenas and tax returns?
Impeachment articles should be easy for the public to understand and tangible like lying under oath, violating the Constitution or federal law, ignoring a SCOTUS decision, obstruction of justice, tax fraud, bribery, treason, etc.
Founders intended impeachment to be taken seriously by both houses of Congress. A Senate trial should include witnesses, testimony, documents, etc.
Let’s air out all the laundry then decide what, if anything, to do.
