❌️ One year ago today, two sons/brothers/fathers/husbands named🕊 Lionel and Juan Carlos Rodriguez🕊 sadly lost their lives in a crash that was irrefutably caused by the continued pattern of dangerous and negligent actions of Detective JONATHON NANGLE.

➖️ On September 5, 2023 NANGLE was quickly booked and released without the need for bond, following CHP and the District Attorney's decision to file Misdemeanor charges for Vehicular Manslaughter...& just last week on November 27th, 2023, NANGLE pled "Not Guilty" to both counts.

➖️ His next court date is set for January 22, 2024 at 8:30am in Department 3 of Sacramento Superior Court. NANGLE will more than likely appear via Zoom for his court date, as he has previously, but the Rodriguez family will be in attendance and they are in need of support ❤

❌️ According to court documents, NANGLE & attorney SUSAN WOOD will argue the crash was caused by the Rodriguez brothers...even though all the evidence has shown NANGLE is at fault.

📍CHP's investigation concluded NANGLE failed to maintain his lane and caused the crash

📍A witness turned in dashcam footage showing NANGLE driving erratically while on his phone, and swerving in and out of lanes just moments prior to the crash

📍NANGLE has a court documented history of causing car accidents due to his negligent actions

❌️ NANGLE and SacPD are trying to avoid accountability and sweep this under the rug. The Rodriguez family has never dealt with anything like this 💔 They feel alone and helpless, and feel like they aren't being treated fairly by the "Justice" system.

❌️ GOP officials from McCurtain County, Oklahoma are being investigated by the FBI after they were caught on tape expressing their frustration about it not being socially acceptable beat up and hang Black people, as well as their desires to hire hitmen to kill newspaper reporters..

After hundreds came out in protest, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) has called for the resignation of McCurtain County Sheriff Kevin Clardy (R), District 2 Commissioner Mark Jennings (R), Investigator Alicia Manning and Jail Administrator Larry Hendrix for their comments in the meeting. District 3 Commissioner Robert Beck (R) is also cited in the audio.

❌️ The transcript suggests that the group first started discussing a recent fire which killed a woman and her two dogs. The group joked about the woman’s body parts falling off her body, and that it is similar to eating barbecue.

“So we get her in the body bag and Kyler goes, ‘You do know what we gotta do right?’ Faith goes, ‘No, what?’ He goes, ‘You gotta pre-heat the oven 350 degrees, leave her in there for 15 minutes,’” said Clardy.

“I’m gonna tell you something. If it was back in the day, when that when Alan Marshton would take a damn Black guy and whoop their ass and throw him in the cell? I’d run for f—ing sheriff,” Jennings said.

❌️ After Clardy said things aren’t like that anymore, Jennings continued.

“I know. Take them down to Mud Creek and hang them up with a damn rope. But you can’t do that anymore. They got more rights than we got.”

Jennings supposedly went on to say that he knows of two large pre-dug holes “if you ever need them,” referring to disposing the remains of Bruce Willingham and his son, Chris, also a Gazette-News reporter. Jennings also said that he knows of “two or three hit men, they’re very quiet guys.”

❌️ Manning chimed in and claimed nobody would care if two of the Gazette-News’ reporters were harmed. “Yeah, but here’s the reality,” Manning allegedly said. “If a hair on his wife’s head, Chris Willingham’s head, or any of those people that really were behind that, if any hair on their head got touched by anybody, who would be the bad guy?”

🔶️ 35 year old ALLAHNO DEAN HUGHES (formerly in the Marine Corps, deployed to Iraq) began his career in law enforcement back in 2014, as an officer with the Oakland Police Department in Northern California.

He graduated from the 171st Oakland Police Basic Academy class, and after only 1 year on the job, in 2015, Hughes and 3 other officers shot and killed a man named Richard Perkins in East Oakland.

About a year later, the officers were cleared of any wrong doing, and Hughes continued to work for the Oakland Police Department, until he resigned in April of 2022 for unknown reasons.

🔶️ Shortly after he resigned from OPD...Hughes moved 100 miles north east to Rocklin, California, where he was hired on as a Deputy with the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

Then on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 (less than 6 months after being hired on at Placer County), Deputy Hughes was arrested by CHP for "Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol" while on duty.

Hughes bailed out of jail, and was immediately fired from the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

He's due for arraignment on January 30th, 2023 at 8:30am in Department 44 of the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville, California.

🔶️ It was reported on by virtually every local news media outlets, but Cali Tito was the first to bring you pictures of Officer Allahno Hughes.

I contacted California Highway Patrol to make a record request for the body cam footage from Hughes' arrest, but they said there is none. I replied back & asked for Dashcam/In-Car Camera footage, but they didn't message me back.

🔶️ Did Allahno Hughes resign from the Oakland Police Department in April 2022 because he was caught drinking on the job there too? Or is that unrelated?

Does Hughes have a drinking problem because he's haunted from killing Richard Perkins after only 7 months as a police officer?

Was it a habit that stayed with him after he left the Marine Corps/Iraq? Maybe he just partied a little too hard the night before his shift at Placer County Sheriff?

The California Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a police spotlight on a vehicle does not necessarily constitute detention under the Fourth Amendment.

The court, in a 5-2 decision, held that “a reasonable person would distinguish between a spotlight and red and blue emergency lights in considering whether the person was free to leave or otherwise terminate the encounter,” according to the ruling.

The majority, in making the ruling, declared that courts must consider the use of a spotlight as part of the totality of the circumstances to determine whether it constitutes a police stop.

“It is certainly possible that the facts of a particular case may show a spotlight was used in an authoritative manner. These may include flashing lights at the driver to pull the car over or attempting to blind the driver, which would be relevant considerations under the totality of the circumstances. But the use of a spotlight, standing alone, does not necessarily effect a detention,” the majority ruled.

The decision comes as a ruling in the case of the People v. Tacardon, in which a San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputy in Stockton pulled up behind a car with three people inside, appearing to smoke something, and illuminated the vehicle with a spotlight. The defendant, Leon Tacardon, later was arrested and charged with possession of hydrocodone and ma*****na with intent to sell.

Sam Feldman, a New York City-based public defender, pointed out that four of the concurring justices — Cantil-Sakauye, Corrigan, Jenkins and Guerrero — are former prosecutors, while both dissenting justices — Groban and Liu — are not.

“A reminder that, even in places where you might not realize it, the courts are incredibly unbalanced — both as to prosecutor/defense lawyers but also as to government lawyers/lawyers whose career is based in holding govt accountable and protecting individuals,” tweeted Chris Geidner, who covers the U.S. Supreme Court, law and politics for various outlets.

I am almost certain THIS is Detective JONATHON NANGLE.

I had to take my last post down and re-post it yesterday because I had an inaccurate picture for Detective Nangle.

He made his LinkedIn account private and I couldn't find him on any social media or any available pictures online, but I did find his email address on his Rocket Reach account which is integrated to his LinkedIn account...anyways when I typed his email address in an email, this pic popped up for the profile picture.

It's obviously not a very good quality picture, and it looks like a fairly old one from when he was younger, so he may look a bit different nowadays...but this is the only picture I could find of him, and its better than nothing 🤷

He's from San Jose originally, went to college there and used to work there too...probably still does.

Nangle started out as a Community Service Officer with SacPD back in 2013...so he's probably somewhere around 30 years old.

Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at 6:15 a.m., Detective JONATHON NANGLE was driving an unmarked Police vehicle down Interstate 5 in Sacramento, when he hit and killed two brothers on the side of road.

Lionel Rodriguez was driving his white pickup truck down I-5, when he ran out of gas and pulled off onto the shoulder of the highway.....his brother Juan Carlos Rodriguez came in his car with gas to help him fill it up, and that's when Detective NANGLE drove by, crossing the shoulder line, killing them both. Lionel died at the scene, and Juan Carlos was later pronounced dead after he was transported to the hospital.

Juan Carlos Rodriguez leaves behind a wife, a 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter. Lionel Rodriguez leaves behind a wife and 5 year old daughter.

There are 2 GoFundMe pages setup for each of the men's families (links below the pics).

The crash happened Tuesday, December 6th....and as of Friday, December 9th, the wife of Juan Carlos said that the Sacramento Police Department still hasn't even contacted her.

What makes it even worse, is that Detective NANGLE was also involved in another crash just last year on April 8th, 2021. Court documents from that lawsuit claim that NANGLE's actions were negligent, and resulted in injuries and property damage. The Plantiff ended up settling out of court with the City for $15,500 in that matter.

So Detective NANGLE was accused of negligent action(s) in relation with a car crash that caused personal injury and property damage to a community member in 2021...then 1 and a half years later, that same Detective gets into another car crash, this time killing 2 fathers.

Their children have to grow up without fathers, because of the negligent actions of Detective NANGLE & the negligent actions of the Sacramento Police Department for entrusting Detective NANGLE with the City equipment and authority to do this again.

Call Sac PD & the Sac County DA's Office today, to demand they fire Detective NANGLE, and charge him with Vehicular Manslaughter PC 192(c).

🟥You may have heard about 's latest Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, at an apartment complex in Elk Grove, CA.

⬛️2 Officers with Sac PD's Career Criminal Apprehension Team (CCAT), shot 32 year old Terry Sharp, a man wanted on a felony Fraud warrant and "other crimes" out of Orange County in Southern California.

It was reported on by virtually every local news source (CBS 13, KCRA 3, ABC 10, The Sacramento Bee, etc.)...but what all of these local news sources failed to inform the public of, is that the main officer involved in that shooting was, none other than, Officer TERRENCE MERCADAL (1 of 2 Sacramento Police Officers who murdered Stephon Clark in cold blood back in 2018.

It was previously thought that Officer MERCADAL resigned and moved to another department...but according to SB 1421, he is STILL working with Sac PD's Career Criminal Apprehension Team (CCAT)...and after reviewing the Body Worn Camera footage from this latest OIS, I can confidently say that Officer MERCADAL was one of the main Officers involved, and was the first to shoot...even though Mr. Sharp had his back turned to MERCADAL.

⬛Mr. Sharp WAS holding a firearm, but he never pointed it at any of the officers. It looked like he was scared, confused, and trying to escape the men in plain clothes surrounding him with guns in their hands.

Officer TERRENCE MERCADAL and the "Undercover Officer" involved, fired a total of 20 shots. Most of which were fired at Mr. Sharp as he had his back turned.

⬛️Also, for some reason they attempted to conceal the identity of the 2nd cop that unloaded on Mr. Sharp, (the "Undercover Officer" that is mentioned on SB 1421).

They blurred out his face in most of the bodycam footage, but I was able to isolate a few frames where they slipped up and let his face show

was ruthlessly murdered by former Mesa Police Officer PHILIP “MITCH” BRAILSFORD as he was crawling on the ground, sobbing, begging for his life in a hotel hallway in 2016.

A notice of settlement filed Tuesday November 22, 2022 shows that Laney Sweet, the wife of Daniel Shaver, and her two children will receive $8 million from the city of Mesa.

In a statement released by her attorneys, Sweet acknowledged the settlement will help her family financially. But "no amount of money can undo the transgressions that cruelly removed Daniel from his family's lives forever."

"This settlement does nothing to cure the blatant lack of accountability by all involved since the night of Daniel’s death, which stands as an irredeemable blight on the criminal justice system," Sweet said.

Spokeswomen for the city of Mesa and the Mesa Police Department declined to comment.

Sweet first filed a lawsuit in 2017 against both parties seeking $75 million in damages. She contended Shaver had not provoked the killing, and it could have been avoided if officers had investigated more.

The city settled with Shaver's parents in a similar lawsuit last year for an undisclosed amount.

BACKGROUND:

In January 2016, Mesa police officers went to the hotel after getting a call that someone there was pointing a gun out a window.

They ordered Shaver, 26, to exit his hotel room, lie face-down in a hallway and refrain from making sudden movements — or he risked being shot.

Then-Officer Philip Brailsford shot Shaver as the man lay on the ground outside his hotel room and was ordered to crawl toward officers.

Brailsford was charged with murder in Shaver’s death, but a jury acquitted him of the charge.

Mesa initially fired Brailsford, but he was later rehired to apply for a pension and then took medical retirement.
