Have Your Say in the 2025-2026 School Year: Take the Calendar Survey! (Ver abajo para Español)
The Round Rock ISD calendar committee made up of district and campus staff and parents from each learning community, has created two draft academic calendar options for the 2025-2026 school year.
Before presenting the calendar committee’s recommendation to the Board of Trustees, the district is surveying families, staff, and students to gather their preferences between Draft 1 and Draft 2 of the proposed academic calendar. The survey closes on Wednesday, Aug 28. One response per person is recorded.
The Board of Trustees will review the calendar committee’s recommendations and the community’s feedback before deciding which draft of the academic calendar to adopt.
Survey participants can complete the survey in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Russian, Telugu, or Hindi.

Antes de presentar la recomendación del comité de calendario a la Junta Directiva, el distrito está encuestando a las familias, el personal y los estudiantes para conocer sus preferencias entre el Borrador 1 y el Borrador 2 del calendario académico propuesto. 🇺🇸On September 6th, the Friday before 9/11, The Texas Fallen Project, Inc. will begin placing 4,000 12″ x 14″ American Flags out at Flag Plaza at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park to honor those who have gone on before us.
Starting the evening of Friday, September 6th through the week of 9/11, the entire community is invited to come out to view and reflect on all the lives this country has given in the name of Freedom. Residents are invited to come out, take pictures and educate children on the cost of our freedoms.
The Texas Fallen Project, Inc. will be present at the Memorial the evening of Friday, September 6th, to hand out swag.
The memorial will be in place the evening of September 6th through September 11th.
Yonders Point is located at 3101 Aten Loop.

The Round Rock Police Department's Animal Control Unit is urging the public to exercise caution after recent rabies test results from local bats.
Over the past few months, several bats have tested positive for rabies, highlighting the need for increased vigilance when encountering bats and other wildlife.
Rabies is a serious and often fatal viral disease that affects mammals, including humans.
Safety Tips:
• Avoid Contact with Bats: Do not approach or handle bats. Even bats that appear healthy can carry rabies.
• Secure Your Home: Seal all openings in your home to prevent bats from entering. Check for gaps or cracks around windows, doors, and rooflines.
• Educate Your Family: Ensure all household members, especially children, understand the importance of avoiding contact with wild animals.
• Seek Medical Attention: If you or your pets come into direct contact with a bat, seek medical attention immediately.
If you find a bat within reach of humans or pets, or inside a building, please contact the Round Rock Police Department’s Animal Control Unit at 512-218-5500.
