Just so everyone is in the loop:
After our Open House and now having been open for two weeks, we've been taking a lot of comments and suggestions from our customers to heart. So with that in mind, here are some announcements:
- Everyone seems to love the acoustics and equipment in the current "Phase One" rooms, which is GREAT to hear. Admittedly, during the initial renovations I fell into the common trap that happens when you're apartment or house hunting - the rooms look WAY bigger when they're empty than when you start actually moving things in. The common consensus from our first wave of customers has been that "The rooms are great, they're just a *little bit* cramped". So, during the "Phase Two" build-out we'll be merging Rooms 1 & 2 AND Rooms 3 & 4 in order to create two MUCH LARGER spaces out of four smaller ones!
- The room currently labeled "Room 6" will ALSO be greatly expanded during the Phase Two build-out.
- As we expand into the unused portion of the building, we'll be scrapping the idea of building three "Standard" rooms, and will instead build TWO brand new "Large" rooms!
- Our loaner instruments collection will be expanded! Currently we have one drum set, a pair of congas, and a djembe available for rent. We definitely plan to add a keyboard, and bass and guitar amps as well over time.
- We're also COMPLETELY redesigning the arrangement of the upcoming Recording Studio! Instead of entering from the back of the building (like initial rough sketches showed), we'll be using the second front entrance ("Suite 109") for customers who want to record. When renovations are completed, people using our Recording Studio will have their own break room/storage area, a lobby, and a restroom all to themselves, and will be completely separated from the rehearsal rooms. (This new design also totally eliminates the oddly-shaped recording studio area shown in the concept drawings that we released earlier this year).
- Another VERY popular request has been for on-site storage space as well as lockers for repeat "Short-Term Rental" (hourly/daily) customers. Well, we listened, and these will ALSO be a brand-new feature we'll be adding during Phase Two renovations!
The goal is that when completed, we'll be offering 5 "Large" rehearsal rooms and 1 "Small" practice/soloist room and on-site lockable storage, on top of a full-service Recording Studio!
From the very beginning, we've promoted Jezza's Place as a "State-of-the-art, highly-secure, and COMMUNITY-DRIVEN Rehearsal and Recording Experience" and we mean it!
"Phase Two" designs are being finalized as we speak, and once we have the drawings in our hands we can't wait to share them with you.

* - Note that for the time being, setting up Long-Term rentals does currently require coming into the studio until we can get the Rental Agreements online (which should be soon), but ALL Hourly or Daily rentals can be done in-person, over the phone, via email, or through our website.
