After being closed for about a year, On The Border plans to reopen their Alpharetta area restaurant Monday April 12. The restaurant, located in a freestanding building at 10575 Davis Drive, just off Mansell Road, was repainted, renovated and will debut a new soon-to-launch chain-wide menu when it opens. The Alpharetta On The Border is one of five in metro Atlanta for the Irving, Texas-based chain. The other Atlanta area locations are in Buckhead, Kennesaw, Buford and Duluth, which according to the company's website is operating exclusively for to-go and catering orders.

The 3rd Annual Secret Garden Tour of the Johns Creek Community is May 1st. Vistors will be able to explore the secret gardens of eight private homes in Johns Creek, as well as the gardens at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve.

The drive-yourself and walking tour will feature musicians and artists at each stop, as well as a master gardener at each location to answer questions

Police K-9 Mattis retires this week. The seven-year-old German Shepherd was honored with a city proclamation read by Mayor Jim Gilvin during a City Council meeting Monday. Mattis was with his handler Sgt. Mark Tappan.
